We've had a few wonderful meals at Cayuco. The food is excellent and the drink list is very good. I especially enjoy the mezcal cocktails, which are inspired and very tasty! Make sure to get a table in the back with a beautiful view of Zicatela beach and the ocean.

High expectations but ok food, really my pineapple juice and their amazing sea view save the day. If you want to relax and have a drink go for it, do not expect a meal to remember.

We have been to Puerto Escondido many times and have eaten at many establishments, but Cayuco Cocina & Mezcal is by far the best place to eat. Located right on Zicatela beach, famous for surfing the Mexican Pipeline, Miguel and his sister Jamella (sp?) provide world class cuisine and a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. While the menu is full of Miguel's... More

This was one of the best dinners we have ever had in Mexico. The ingredients were fresh, the recipes thoughtful and delicious and , the staff was intelligent, gracious and welcoming. We reserved here on a tip from a local and we're delighted. Total cost, including fresh cocktails and sangria, less than $25 pp.

We went for a quick dinner at the sunset. Beautiful setting on the "quiet" side of playa Zicatela. Friendly service, freshly made ceviche on the spot full of flavour. Few different option on the ceviche but the house is the one we liked the most.

Stick with fish and seafood. Others dishes a little tough. Service is very keen and knowledgable. Mescal presentation with guasno salt a huge hit with the fans in our group. Going back soon

We had a great dinner experience at Cayuco. Our food was prepared with care and seasoned perfectly. My husband had a flight of mezcales that was outstanding. Our kids had the pasta which was done very well. Overall, an unexpected dinner considering this restaurant is in the middle of a very touristy beach. Very much worth going!

A step up in design. Nicer chairs. Tables and lighting than the usual beach palapa places. Mescal served like flites in a nice wood boat with star fruit much better than traditional orange slices which I dislike. Huge bowl of ceviche. Very tasty. Better yet was broscheta of vegies and swordfish chunks. Charcol flavor. Onions singed and carmelized. Was the... More

We ate their tonight, at least we did our best to eat there. An hour wait for ceviche (!) that was overcooked (!!) which takes some doing. At one point the waitresses were chopping ingredients for our ceviche and for a a kitchen that was simply overwhelmed and under-skilled to cope with a busy restaurant on a Saturday night. One...
