Great ceviche and fish tacos - you've got to try their special house salsa, very unique and delicious! A perfect bite if you've landed and want to stop for lunch before heading to Cabo Pulmo.

Do not miss out on filling your belly under the Evaristo Hermanos' enormous palapa on Highway 1 (the Transpeninsular) near the San José del Cabo airport. If you travel north on Highway 1, it is the first left after the entrance to the airport (obviously,...the reverse if you're coming from the opposite direction!), opposite the PEMEX station. A bit hidden behind some bushes between the parking lot and the highway, there is a big painted sign that reads MARISCOS. There is a dirt road parallel to the highway that will lead you into the parking lot. If you like freshly prepared ample servings of fish tacos, ceviche, seafood cocktails and platters, this authentic local dining establishment will make you very happy. Most platters are accompanied by a salad, rice and beans. Once your order is taken, your appetite will be whetted with a delicious, complementary well-seasoned seafood broth served in a styrofoam cup along with tostadas and tortilla chips accompanied by a house salsa. My husband also never fails to order a spicy coctel de pulpo (octopus), served in a massive goblet -- a Baja California classic. My only caution is that salads are dressed with either mayonnaise or a bottled creamy César. When I asked if they had any olive oil to mix with the juice I could squeeze from one of the many limes on the table, I was told they only had "aceite comestible" -- essentially ordinary edible vegetable oil -- which I agreed to. Imagine my surprise when the waitress brought a little plastic container of what clearly was already used vegetable oil that I guess she expected me to repurpose as salad dressing! She looked perplexed when I turned it down and said that they had already used all the vegetable oil delivered that morning! Not really my idea of a citrus vinaigrette! Therefore, Evaristo Hermonos receive 4 stars instead of 5 from me!More
