How is Il Bugno rated?

The proprietors of our B & B recommended Il Bugno for dinner on one of the four nights we stayed in Ghivizanno. It has a large seating area, which was crowded with a company dinner the evening my wife and I were there. We were...seated at a side table, so the crowd didn’t bother us. I had the pork knuckle and split the pesto ravioli and creamy tortellini with my wife. She had a chocolate dessert and I had a panna cotta. The food was very good, the service was friendly and the prices were reasonable.More

Quick and easy

Just an average pizza in a very large restaurant. Very little atmosphere, but they let us change the toppings on the pizza and it was quick and easy!

Bustling restaurant, good food and great value for money

All you want from a lunch time menu. Two courses, bread, wine and water for €12 per person. The food was well cooked and not over salted. This a a large restaurant, somewhat dated in its decor, but that adds to the ambience. As you...would expect in this rural part of Italy, everyone seemed to know each other, there was a lovely hubbub of chatter, which just adds to the charm. All the staff were very friendly and guided us through the menu, which like so many of similar establishments, doesn't exist on paper but is just spoken. Really enjoyed eating here and will return.More

Great food and service

We went there for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The service and the food was superb! They treated us like royalty, nothing was too much trouble. The local wine was excellent, the fried chicken is a must!

Just what we were looking for

We were en route to Lucca and looking for a bustling restaurant where we could get a worker’s lunch. We were not disappointed with Il Bugno. It was busy, bustling, great value and super food - in fact everything we were looking for. Highly recommended.

ALWAYS FANTASTIC!

Been coming here 3/4 times a week for lunch/dinner the past four years when visiting Barga. The staff are absolutely amazing! So friendly and funny! The food, though not fancy, is delicious. I have never had a bad meal at this place and I’ve eaten...here a lot! Prices are unbeatable. I just love it!More

Great food and well priced

Went here with my family and was able to eat a two course meal for 10 euro! Had a variety of choices for first and second course and left there feeling content and full!

Nice family meal

We went for a family meal. Lovely thanks be able to sit outside. Food was lovely and service was great. The pizzas were delicious and we shared a small pasta between us for starters which was lovely. Complementary lemoncello was lovely. A very reasonable priced...meal and definitely very popular with both tourists and locals alike.More

FABULOUS!

Value for money - plus!

This is an ideal venue for lunching and dining, whether as a couple or part of a larger group; also ideal for special occasions and events. The lunch menu during the week is fantastic value for money; superb food including water, wine and coffee -...all for 10euros! The location is easily accessible and with ample parking. The restaurant itself is large but also intimate. The staff and service is friendly and efficient. Nothing seems to be too much trouble.More
