Had dinner there recently. We had been several times before. As soon as we saw the menu we got sticker shock! The prices seemed to be at US levels. The service was good but the cocktails seemed weak. The salad was acceptable but certainly nothing...More

The food is good, the service is very good and they are NOT DOG FRIENDLY. PRETTY STUPID since most of their clientele are Americans / Canadians. They need to get with the program and save a table in the corner on the patio for people...More

We enjoyed an amazing dinner on their very beautiful patio and, this is no exaggeration, everything was delicious. I've read others' rave reviews of the kale & brussel sprout salad and, to be honest, it was one of the best salads I've ever eaten! Very...More

Best Food around! Great service too. Beautiful place to dine. Make reservations to insure that you will get a table. All of the food they prepare is delicious. Thursday night they have a selection of burgers to blow your mind.

Our cab driver was about 30 minutes late getting to our house but they still accommodated us without a problem. Great selection of wines by the glass or bottle. For starters we had the Romaine Cesar and Snow Pea/Smoked Bacon Salads. Both were excellent! We...More

Love this in town place....safe and good food and a connection with Le Vergel. Everything is good and I especially love the carnitas salad. Lots of things to try and all good. Nice waiters and good English.

Our small fox terrier "Ika" will be with us, as always. We are staying at the Rosewood where Ika is most welcome. Can Ika join the four of us during our meal at The Restaurant?

Definitely not.
Why is there a 15 or 16% tax (I forgot exactly) on the bill? It is not tip because there is a separate line to fill in the tip. I didn't think about it until I dine at other restaurants and none of them charges tax.

Most restaurants include this tax in their prices...so you don't see it. It's up to them to pay it. The Restaurant puts this price on top of their prices, so you see this value added tax (IVA).

THE RESTAURANT, housed in one of San Miguel’s most elegantly colonial settings at Sollano 16, opened in February 2008 featuring Chef Donnie Masterton’s world class cuisine. It is located just steps away from the main square of San Miguel de Allende, the prettiest and most restored/written-about Colonial city in all of Mexico. Offering a full bar, it serves lunch and dinner five days a week in a sun-dappled eighteen century Moroccan courtyard, as well as in their elegant dining salon.Serving global comfort good, THE RESTAURANT’s menu reflects the changing seasons with a focus on the simplicity of fine ingredients. The Chef collaborates with local organic growers, dairy farmers and ranchers to procure the freshest, highest quality and responsibly raised product available. Catering to today’s more experienced, adventurous and health conscious diners, The Restaurant will emphasize quality in food and customer service…as well as a more involved relationship with respect to our food and the land it comes from.
