Gosh, I don't really know where to start. The Good: Easy to find, easy to get a lunch table. The Bad: 1. Slow slow service, in a restaurant that had maybe 4 tables going. A little slow to take our order, after we ordered it took about 35 minutes for the food to come. This, for a meal I could... More

My traveling companion and I have, for the last three days, been taken in by overly enthusiastic reviews of some eating establishments here in San Miguel. So when we were looking for a place to have dinner on a Friday night, we looked long and hard at the reviews of Hank's New Orleans Cafe and Oyster Bar. It was a... More

After three bum meals in San Miguel at high-end restaurants, we decided to give Hank's a try--and we are really happy that we did. Great service, great cocktails, a terrific dinner. Yes, the bar is noisy, so my suggestion is that you eat away from the bar as we did. We requested a table near one of the open windows... More

this is one of those places where people hang out at the bar and socialize which makes for a very noisy place. We went here twice while in SMA, first time was the night we arrived as we had never been to SMA before and it happened to be a place I remembered from reviews. We got seated right away... More

Having been in Mexico for over three weeks when we ate here, we were very excited to enjoy some different cuisine. And boy did we enjoy it! Cocktails were beautifully made, for starters. My husband ordered the gumbo, which you tremendously enjoyed. I had the grilled trout with almonds, a baked potato with a creamy blue cheese sauce, and an... More

Six of us went here last night for dinner. Our hostess had been here previously and was quite positive about her previous experience. The ambiance is VERY loud and it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Our server was quite pleasant, but the food was mediocre. While there were posters and other artwork of New Orleans on the walls,... More

This great bar/restaurant is slightly upscale however still has that hometown feel to it. The atmosphere is tremendous, the decor is beautiful, the staff is exceptional, the drinks are far and away the best in San Miguel and the food is gourmet and delicious, but not even close to gourmet priced! We are in love with this place and if... More

Food was great and atmosphere outstanding but it was New Orleans cuisine all the way. Now Mexican Dishes and I wanted some guacamole but we had a wonderful time there.

We needed a quick lunch and really wanted a fresh salad with tuna Well, this is the place for sure. Tuna "stack" included corn, avocado, tuna, with delicious dressing and of course salad. Yummy, known for their oysters but we didn't have that.

I never would have guessed that Mardi Gras is celebrated in San Miguel de Allende, but there were folks all over town decked out for the celebration ... and Hank's had all the employees dressed up in costume ... whatta hoot ! The food was pretty good, too !

Description
Hank's is the new name of the famous Harry's Restaurant with 12 years of history in Mexico, since 1999 in San Miguel Allende and since 2004 in Queretaro. Hank's is a bit of Louisiana and its "French Quarter", which offers the traditional Cajun cuisine from New Orleans. The atmosphere at Hank's is incomparable, you can enjoy a delicious dinner or spend a pleasant evening in the bar, drinking a margarita, a martini or a devastating hurricane while listening to jazz music.
