We had high expectations for La Siesta because we loved the romantic courtyard atmosphere off the main highway. (Others who don't like walking the two blocks off the highway "around dark corners" mystify us - we think the quiet off-the-main-highway location is part of the appeal.) The service was just great, but the food disappointed us. We ordered pasta with... More

We stumbled on this restaurant on Christmas eve. We came in looking like elves and left looking like Santa. We ordered much too much food, and it was all good enough that we wanted to finish it all. The pizza was a standout, and several seafood dishes were great as well. Perhaps because there was an enormous (and growing) party... More

We've had pretty good pizza here, not as good as at La Nave, but otherwise fine and a great and friendly place tucked away on one of the back streets. They have a really nice garden to sit in, friendly service. Also a real Italian wood oven pizza.

We had great food in this wonderful garden set restaurant. We enjoyed it so much we went back for a second night. I went for pizza both nights and they were both tasty; thin and crispy base, nice fresh toppings in a great sauce. Herself went for fish the second time; grouper fillets in a tequila and mango sauce which... More

Arrived in Tulum at 2 pm, we were very hungry. Ordered Margaritas and the baked potato from the appetizer menu.... Fantastic!! All were delicious, and our service was great; Poncho was very friendly and fun!! Will come again during our 1 month stay in Tulum.

Looking for a break from so much delicious seafood, we gave La Siesta a try. Upon arriving, we were made to feel welcome and impressed with the lovely garden setting. The menu looked good and we ordered "bruschetta" from the English-language menu to get us started. (There were two "bruschetta" options--"bruschetta" and "bruschetta mixta.") When the bruschetta arrived, it was... More

We went to La Siesta on the recommendation of a local shop owner, and while it wasn't bad, it really wasn't worth going to. The service was very friendly (as is the norm in Tulum), but the setting is not appealing - on a secondary street in Tulum, requiring a walk around some pretty dark corners. Certainly no view of... We were there Oct. 28 for some of the best pizza in town. The owners remembered us from last spring, which shows the wonderful service at this great restaurant. We are going to make La Siesta the go to place this winter........

Description
Restaurant “La Siesta” is located in Tulum downtown, in the beautiful Riviera Maya. Surrounded by a luxuriant garden, La Siesta is a cozy and romantic place. The wide space can host big groups, organize birthdays and private parties as well business dinners and work groups. Our cuisine is simple but international, using only fresh ingredients and natural products and offering affordable prices. Our “pasta” is daily homemade: lasagna, fettuccine, ravioli and gnocchi. The fish and the local seafood (caught daily): lobsters, shrimps and a wide range of seafood that you can also taste in our famous “paella”.And the meat in the typical Mexican and Argentinean cuts, naturally grilled or tasted with the peculiar recipes of our menu.Last but not least the great pizza, obviously cooked in the wood stove. All the menu can match with our varied wine cellar, a refreshing beer or a special cocktail. We also offer the home delivery service from 1 pm to 11 pm; no extra charge in downtown and 20 pesos for each delivery for the hotels located on Tulum beach.
