We loved the octopus ceviche so much that we had to come and eat again during our week in Tulum. Very reasonable price for the giant portions. The fish tacos and the lobster soup were also great!

I can't recommend El Capitan. I got sick from the tacos, and the rest of my family had a pretty meh experience. There are about a million better places to eat—and which won't make you sick.

Had the fish tacos. They were the best I had in Tulum! Took a while but they were amazing. Staff was great

Went there for dinner. Service was good and our waiter did a great job. In the other hand food quality was bad. We ordered octopus witch was horrible and souce was sour and unfresh. Secon dish was fajitas. It was ok, drinks was ok. Nothing special... choose a better place!

I had beef tacos. Not much to write home about. Mostly meat on tortillas with a small amount of salsa and guacamole on the side. Free chips and salsa sauce to start. Place was very busy and there was a strolling mariachi band. Price was reasonable (especially for Tulum).

I was in a hurry but starving, they understood this and they were very fast. I had beef tacos and they were absolutely delicious. I was very happy. Thank you

Nice restaurant with casual atmosphere. We tried both types of ceviche and loved both. We had the shrimp tacos which were very good. This is not fine dining but a lovely way to end a day spent at the beach.

Firstly there are two El Capitans in Tulum. A large one on the main strip heading to the beach and a smaller one off the downtown main strip. I went to the latter and it was excellent. The taxi driver took us to this one when we asked for somewhere she would eat. It's laid back and the amount of... More

My husband, daughters, and I went here for lunch and had a great experience. It was pretty hot out, and we were taken to a covered patio area in the back of the restaurant where it was much cooler and very quiet. There were little hammocks along the wall which my daughter sat in while we waited for our food.... More

We stopped at this restaurant on our way to Tulum. The service was great! Food was real Mexican and very well served in the sense that there was a good amount of food on the plate. Regular prices. Music and space very pleasant. The only thing I have to say is that they need to improve in the cleanliness of... More
