Amazing tacos...wood-fired flavors and traditional Mexican fare and flare. Seek this place out, don't think twice!

affordable and a good place to go when you first arrive just to get your food bearings before you go more so in depth with your cuisine choices.

This might be a bit biased. We were not crazy about typical Mexican food and we don't like spicy food neither. But I still want to try this restaurant. It's not too bad, but it's not amazing good neither. It was very busy. I saw long line up when we left. A musician came up and played music right behind... More

There is nothing particularly fancy about this place. There are no doors or windows, just an open dining area with two tv's, a grille, and a general kitchen area. I had the best nachos, tacos, and arrachera I've ever had. The chips were hearty and very flavorful, and the horchata was better than most I've had. Although the table I... More

Visited based on reviews and based on the fact this is used by locals, which is always a good sign. This is slightly away from the main Quinta Avenida but not too far to walk. The food here is really cheap and authentic Mexican. There's a quick turn around so you won't wait long for a table. Good little place... More

Be warned, it doesn't open until 1pm despite what Google maps says. But it's worth waiting. We got the arrechera (steak) queso which was nothing like American queso but absolutely delicious. You eat the queso on tortillas. Then my boyfriend got quesadillas and I got a bunch of the al pastor tacos. If I went again I'd probably get something... More

A lot of people, not to mention ALL the taxidrivers, seem to recommend this place for some great tacos. They are ok, nothing special really. The place is crowded with tourists only, so it's quite obvious it's not s locals place.

This is where you will find REAL Mexican food at a great price! Don't be afraid of the line..it tends to move quickly and it is definitely worth the wait. The Tacos Pastora and the Loco Taco are fantastic, not to leave out the fajitas. BRING YOUR APPETITE!! Josalito offered experienced service and exemplary patience with our lack of Spanish.... More

Always a lot of people including locals eating here. We've been coming to Playa every year for a long time and never miss 2 or 3 meals from El Fogon. They also make great margaritas! Great food for reasonable prices. We always go to the location at Constituyentes & 30th across from Mega. Highly recommend.

Date night for my husband and I. We went off the beaten path, again thanks to blogger "sarah somewhere." Thank goodness for experienced travellers who have passion to spread word via blogging. We had TACO LOCOs, drinks, and AMAZING guacamole (highly recommend ordering this at the beginning when they give you chips and salsa). Be ware of fresh made salsa... More
