My husband and i were on a cruise with one of the ports being Cozumel. A local at the Mega store recommended La Choza and our expectations were high based on his comments. They were not very busy when we arrived but still had a long wait before receiving service. Our server either did not speak good English or chose... More

We make La Choza our first stop every time in Cozumel. The food is great & the service is excellent.

This restaurant provides a more authentic food experience in Cozumel. We have eaten here many times and enjoy many of the entrees. This time we both had the "whole-fish"...a red snapper deep fried. It was so fresh and so flavorful, served, of course with garlic butter.

The food and the margaritas were good and so was the ambiance. However, I was disappointed on my shrimp fajitas. The shrimp were so small that you could hardly see them and there were only a few of them on the plate. Usually shrimp fajitas are served stir fried with veggies. Since I don’t eat onions I asked them to... More

We were headed to a different restaurant when a local guided us to this gem. They have the most amazing 20 ingredient mole that is to die for! Try the whole fish fried absolutely amazing! The service was the best. We were so happy we ended up in this place for the best dinner we had on the island.

I've been going to Cozumel for years. The original location of La Choza held a special charm, unfortunately it burned. Grouper with garlic butter was good but I had better on the island, however if you are downtown this is a consistently good place to eat. The meal is served with soup, rice, chips, salsa, and warm corn tortillas. Margarita... More

Pork fajitas are great, nachos were ok, Flan was tasty. I would go back next time I'm in Cozumel and stick with fajitas

We visited the restaurant with high expectations since it was recommended. The facility is Mexican and locals visit it as well for special celebrations. The service was ok, the food I ordered was tasteless and particularly not according to the well known recipe...Fish Veracruz style. I told the waiter that this is not the original recipe. He shrugged the comment... More

I have been coming here for the past three years. Arriving late Saturday, I went for my favorite meal in Cozumel. Much to my chagrin, I arrived too late for the lunch special. So I returned on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. Every day better than the last. Chicken prepared in a number of ways - and today's soup was spinach... More
