We dined on the upper patio with an overview of the surrounding garden walls. What a lovely old world environment. Service was highly attentive but we never felt rushed. In fact we dined over a two hour period and at our leisure. Our selections were perfectly prepared and the wine list was well thought through, pairing well with an eclectic... More

We were sort of stuck in downtown Cancun and decided to give La Habichuela a try...good call! We sat in the outdoor courtyard and it was lovely and relaxing. We tried the guacamole, some ceviche, coconut shrimp, and a mixed seafood plate and all were amazing!! Our server was Gerardo and he was so helpful with his recommendations and overall... More

We've been going here for years and they never disappoint, including our most recent visit last week. The food, ambiance and service are impeccable. The staff constantly goes above and beyond to accommodate and make you feel like you are the only diner in the restaurant. The unique dishes are delicious, no matter what you might order from the extensive... More

We've since brought our children (11yrs & 14yrs) and the also love it. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel special throughout. Ending the... More

In the many years we have visited Cancun we have not eaten at La Habichuela until this past April. We were advised by some local people to go to the downtown restaurant even though there was another one close to our resort. When we arrived the staff was very friendly and accommodating and we were surprised at the variety of... More

After nearly 30 years of vacationing in Cancun we finally tried La Habichuela - Downtown. At first the drive there and location was a bit off-putting but the restaurant itself was a hit. Beautiful decor throughout the entryway lead to an upscale dining room and, even better, a fantastic outside garden area full of trees, Mayan sculpture and tons of... More

We ate at this restaurant on our first night in Cancun; recommended by the Mallorca Hotel. This restaurant has been in business for about 35 years. The facility is classy and comfortable, with both inside dining and outside in a large patio area. Service is excellent, and almost over the top. If you like to have a waiter unfold your... More

Great food, and very nice service. Also the waiter was speaking english that was very helpful. However is not very cheap for mexican restaurants standard. We paid about $150 (americam dollars) for a 4 persons meal but we had cocteils and desert too). Don't miss the Habichuela soup. Great presentation and taste.
