You might notice, that I do not review very many chain restaurants. I have a strong preference for independently owned restaurants and especially those that the chef is part of full owner of the restaurant. I like the idea that the more of the dollar that I spend stays within the community where I am spending, and I generally think the food and service are better. Tonight we left home as we commonly do, on our bikes, with a destination in mind. About half way on our ride, my weather app, buzzed and warned us of lightning in the area and that a storm was headed our way. So, we pulled over at the next place we came by, which happened to be Bubba Gump. We have a firm rule, about out door dining only because of Covid, so we took a seat on the patio and quickly ordered. The two members of the staff that were helping us, warned of the storm rolling in and offered us a seat inside. We explained that we preferred to stay outside no matter what. They were so amazing and set up an umbrella and placed our order. We had two corn on the cob appetizers, and they were fresh, hot, juicy and delicious. Our salad arrived right when we were finishing the corn. A delicious blend of greens, apples, blue cheese, and balsamic dressing. Full transparency, we ordered it without cranberries, because I just don’t like dried fruit unless they are the totally natural, ugly colored ones. We also shared a hamburger and fries. The food was good. What I really want to bring attention to was the over the top, amazing service. We had two waiters, Victor and Enrique (Ki-Kay) who were both funny, attentive, knowledgeable about the menus and so, so fun. We had a great time with both of them. Midway, through our hamburger it started to rain, at first we huddled under the umbrella. Both servers and a very nice young lady (I didn’t catch her name,sorry) checked on us often repeating the offer to give us a table inside. As the rain continued to increase, so did our amusement with the situation and the staff’s amusement with us. When the rain turned into a torrential downpour, literally, raining not only down but also sideways, we had to move, soaking wet and still laughing under a small shelter on the patio. The staff continued to run out and check on us, even when they had to use an umbrella to do so. We found ourselves singing out loud and enjoying the music, including a few songs about rain, when the manager, Daniella camebover and introduced herself. We talked about the playlist, and music in general. This smart, impressive, bi-lingual, amazing young woman engaged us (still in the rain) in an extremely interesting conversation that made us feel so welcome. She ended the conversation, after making some amazing recommendations about Mexican music we fully plan to check out, by inviting us to think of Bubba Gump as our home, away from home and asked us to please return soon. You can bet we will Daniella. And if you are reading this review and can stop in at this restaurant, do so and treat yourself to some top notch hospitality.

Six of us ate at Bubba Gumps at the Cancun Airport. We had seafood and a kids chicken finger meal. There are no refills on the drinks and the glasses are not very large. They did have a refillable option, but this was around $10 for each person. The Accidental Fish and Shrimp was great as was the Seafood Feast, and Caesar Salad. The service was very good. The waiter did say the house water was bad, which did make me wonder about how they prepared the food and attended to cleanliness for the workers. $$$$

It is a tradition for me to eat at Bubba Gump’s in the Cancun Airport. Prices are high but so is the taste and quality of their food, and the waiters are always cheerful, helpful and friendly!
The menu is diverse - and their ‘most recommended meal’ and the shrimp mac and cheese are both always delicious.

Tried their signature dish and calamari appetizer and was overall disappointed. The quality was not good and the food was barely warm. The portions were small and the the calamari serving looked large however it was mostly jalapeño pepper pieces fried. Overpriced for the quality. Would not recommend.

We eat fresh seafood our entire week in Cancun and this experience was the most disappointing. Our first time at this establishment and definitely our last. We overheard staff talking about American guests within earshot and it put a damper on service.

We we’re really disappointed when we visited bubba gump, firstly the took 20 minutes for us to order a drink. When the meals eventually came my 2 year old sons meal wasn’t cooked the, the chicken strips were completely raw, obviously they were sent back to be recooked, this took another 20 mins which we eventually gave up on and told them we no longer wanted. Also only 5 of our 6 meals came out at start after my 10-15 mins of nit coming and 3 times asking were it was the waiter told us there was a problem in the kitchen!!! Fast forward another 20 mins when everyone had finished eating the meal eventually turned up, needless to say at this point my daughter did not want her meal and did not eat it. There was no apology and we were still charged for the 2 meals. We will never eat at bubba gumps ever again

My husband and I visit Cancun about once every two years. We usually try to avoid any chain restaurant while traveling and there are so many other good local restaurants available. Decided to give this this Bubba Gump Shrimp pace a visit. We arrived for dinner about 6 PM. We had a reservation and we were seated immediately. No one came to the table to even take our drink order for over 10 minutes. We flagged someone down who sent over a server to get our drink order and when he delivered them we were told he would be right back to take our food order. Another 10 minutes later still no server and no order taken for our food so we stopped a server walking by us again and asked her to get our waiter. A different server finally came over and we placed our order. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time and they food was good. After our food arrived no one ever stopped by to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. Even had to ask to have them find our server again to get the biil! Will not come back here again in the future.

We hit this place because it is one of the open early restaurants in the area. It looks nice and has a great ambience about the place. Staff are very nice and welcoming. Unfortunately the food is expensive and not particularly nice. Not for me this one. Too much deep fried seafood......

Bubba Gump was Amazing the Food,Drinks were Delish Especially pleased with the our Incredible waitress FLOR she’s Wonderful as well as her food&drink suggestions as for her excelente customer service she went as fare as helping us in from the rain before it actually started . Impressed by all the customer service received threw out all of the restaurant. Bubba Gump is Very Fortunate to have such an Amazing Staff!! Will Recommend and Eat&Drink at Bubba Gump Agin on our next trip to Cancun!!!

Our waitress Flor, offered us menu suggestions wich help us deside from a vast variety of choices. Her personal recomendations were excellent dishes. This help us make a good choice for our orders. In adittion her lightheartenss made this visit enjoyable. Her ability betwen custumer service and sense of humor was above average. She added to our vacation a very fun memory which was priceless. We hope to return and visit this establishment again soon. Thank you for making our visit so pleasant. The strowberry lemonade was at first cuestionable but resulted refreshing.

Even though we stayed at an all inclusive we wanted to try something different. This was within walking distance of hotel so we decided to give it a try. Soooooo glad we did....food was amazing!! I was also able to grab the servers attention without my husband knowing and all the servers came over and sane Happy Birthday to him with a small piece of chocolate cake!! My teenage girls got drinks in souvenir cups that light up...pretty cool. I would highly recommend!! Oh and I never had seafood hush puppies....so so good! Nice to see some Forest Gump memorabilia too!

The atmosphere is nice and fun - on the water on the lagoon side. Good size portions but a little pricey especially when there are many other local options for much less money. very good service.

I am from Belgium, 5 years ago, I discovered Bubba Gump on the American west coast during a road trip. the food was original, excellent. The arrangement in the plates very neat. I was therefore happy to rediscover this restaurant chain on my last day in Mexico, spent in Cancun. But what a disappointment! the starter was greasy and man presented, as for the reference dish, the scampis in curry with rice… what a disaster. no provision on the plate, even an asian street vendor does better. the rice was sticky, the sauce very artificial, and I had an instant stomach ache on leaving the restaurant. as for the price… diet starter flat coke… 30 euros (700 Mexican pesos). the worst meal of my 15 day stay in mexico. is this bubba gump that has lost its nobility or just that of cancun? no idea. but no longer the slightest desire to test, even elsewhere!

Typical over priced chain airport restaurant. Lots of extremely overpriced fried food options and drinks. We ended up with the bucket of fries which wasn't a bucket size serving more of a bowl size and waters all around. Had to flip a sign on the table for service, just not our thing. Other restaurants there but it was the closest to our gate. Eat before you get to the airport!

We ordered takeout from Bubba Gump Cancun and it was by far the best food we have had at a Bubba Gump! We got several dishes, ceviche, sautéed shrimp, coconut shrimp, fish & chips and a few other items. Everything was delicious and they gave us plenty of sauces and takeout plates & silverware. We appreciate how quick they were and how friendly! Thank you!
