Super restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Great food; especially the tortilla soup and the chicken vegetable soup.

I came across this restaurant because it was located in the courtyard of my hotel. It turned out to be one of the best I tried in Oaxaca. The food offered a delicious, inventive, delicately seasoned take on local cuisine. My favorite dish was the Garnachas Istmeñas, which came with a wonderful, light cole slaw dressed in a tangy vinaigrette-... More

Much more creative than most restaurants in Oaxaca. We stopped by for lunch on New Year's Eve, and the experience was so good we made a reservation for a late dinner that night. We just had to try more things on the menu. Moles were some of the best we had on our trip - subtle and complex. We even... More

The food was ok, nothing fancy or tasty. Service was average. I wouldn't go back, there are many other restaurants to spend your time and money. The only good thing was the atmosphere, nice patio.

This is not the typical food you would get from a Oaxacan grandma, but it is very good. They use the same ingredients, add some new, and make new creations. I was afraid to try, because sometimes this adventures fail. But we liked it a lot. The place has a beautiful decoration and great ambiance.

While the inside courtyard makes for a pleasant dining experience, the high prices and bland food ruins it. The service was very good and friendly however the menu items are over-priced. My wife's mole lacked flavour and my salsa verde was greasy with no heat to it at all (a rarity in Mexico); both sauces tasted as if they had... More

The restaurant is located less than a block from the Zocalo in Oaxaca, but it provides a very tranquil setting to relax and enjoy your meal. The food is excellent with many different types mole from which to choose. It is set in the enclosed courtyard of a colonial building, providing a very nice setting in which to dine. You... More

La Catrina Restaurant in Oaxaca is a beautiful restaurant, right from the entrance to its arty decorations and its ambiance. In fact, we were attracted to this restaurant purely due to its artistic design when I was taking photos on Oaxaca street. I didn’t have any clue what the food will be like, just thought I have to dine there... More

This restaurant is a bit on the pricey side but you can get good quality food with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is very nice and different from other, more traditional restaurants. They also have great margaritas!

When women dressed up in traditional costume are standing on the sidewalk trying to entice you to eat at their restaurant, it makes you feeel like they are trying too hard or it is too expensive. After having a look at their menu and reading a couple of reviews from other websites, we decided to try it out. Although not... More
