This reaonably priced restaurant has a wide range of traditional and unusual Oaxacan and regional dishes. They also have a choice of cocktails with Mezcal and a wide range of grades of this popular alcoholic beverage. Attentive service and at least one server who spoke English. However, some subtlety of translation was lacking. A Mezcal drink described by the server... More

This is a very good restaurant offering a nice variety of food and mescals...The service is attentive and not over bearing, some of the food is reputed to be from the Istmo.....WE had an excellent salad...

Came to Oaxaca with a friend for the long weekend and this was our first meal. Its not very fancy but good, amazing value for money. We have the meal for 2 (photo of the main course attached). It was a good mix of local dishes, all very tasty, highly recommended for a quickish lunch!

We went here for dinner one night a few weeks ago, and had their Platter for 2. It was delicious and a great way to sample a bunch of different traditional Oaxacan plates. They also have extensive beer and mezcal lists, so go ready to do some tasting!

Delicious and creative cuisine in a wonderful atmosphere, do not miss this restaurant! A contemporary version of traditional Oaxaca cuisine is well balanced, fresh and creative. This restaurant is "uptown" in Oaxaca new restaurant row on Garcia Vigil, just a block from Santo Domingo. Great selection of mezcal es too.

I came here around lunchtime with my friend. We had a sharing platter which was great with lots of different things to try, well presented and tasty. I also had 2 x mezcal cocktails which were great and there's a good selection of beers. It's the best food I've had in mexico. Definitely come here if you're in Oaxaca

Best food we encountered in Oaxaca. The mezcal selection is amazing. I only wish I had a bigger stomach to eat more! Ask waiters for app suggestions as well as artesanal mezcales. They offer a wonderful (off menu) tasting of your selection of 3 of the house mezcales for 90mxd.

We ate here twice. The ambience is lovely and the food delicious! Please note, however, no wine is served! Strictly usual assorted liquors, lots of beer and mezcal offerings. Service is excellent and I would recommend reservations. It is located near the Santo Domingo Plaza.

I guess there is no real cooks in the kitchen but people called cooks pushing microwaves buttons. The food seems to be brought from outside, a market? Someone's house? I personally saw someone's bringing some kind of foods or sauces arriving in big plastic buckets in the middle of lunch service.... A restaurant is actually a place where fresh and... More

Description
I ate at many of the restaurants listed in trip advisor over an 8 day period in Oaxaca. Decided to try this place because it was always crowded with the mixture of Mexican and non Mexican tourists. The food was from the isthmus of Mexico. Authenic but different than the usual Oaxacan cuisine which became repetitious after a while.
The food was different, with a lot of " I wonder how they make this sauce, dip, drink?" It was not fusion gitzy food that a lot of the higher rated restaurants on your trip advisor restaurant list present to the tourists.
