We enjoyed the Oaxacan cuisine for lunch at this centrally located place. The staff was very attentive and helpful.

This place offers traditional food. However, I just tried one of their mezcal drinks. It was delicious! The staff were wonderful!

Regional cuisine elevated through ingredients and expert hands to delicacies with tradition. The selection of mezcales they offer is one of the best in the city.

This should be on your list of places to eat. Oaxaca has a plethora of great restaurants - this is one.

I like Zandunga. It's a beautiful space, with excellent service. The food is very good, in particular the various seafood selections. Vegetarian friends like it as well.

After a very long drive from Mexico City, we were all starved and did not feel like researching places to eat. We googled restaurants, saw that Zandunga was well liked and jumped into a cab to try for ourselves. A party of four, we found...More

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The mezcal choices were aplenty.

We had had the full-on Oaxaca effect for three days and wanted to chill out. Zandunga was just what we needed: calm, measured service and first class food and drink. A limited menu usually appeals to us - it says the kitchen is serious about...More

I preferred the restaurant next door (Biznaga), which is touch less tourist-oriented and has a semi-outdoors dining room, but still had a pleasant meal at Zandunga and the service is certainly better than what next door offers.

The food is delicious and the service is great. We had the Tlayuda, which is made of blue corn. And we had the Dried Shrimp, which are cured in salt. The cocktails we had we also loved. The mezcal menu has some of the best...More

Oh, i don't know. But worth calling or emailing them to ask. If not, maybe call their hotel to see if they can arrange something special.

Description
I ate at many of the restaurants listed in trip advisor over an 8 day period in Oaxaca. Decided to try this place because it was always crowded with the mixture of Mexican and non Mexican tourists. The food was from the isthmus of Mexico. Authenic but different than the usual Oaxacan cuisine which became repetitious after a while.
The food was different, with a lot of " I wonder how they make this sauce, dip, drink?" It was not fusion gitzy food that a lot of the higher rated restaurants on your trip advisor restaurant list present to the tourists.
