Located in historic MC, El Cardinal is definitely a memorable experience. The atmosphere was classic and felt European (in a good way). The food was fantastic. We had the veal pecho, homemade bread, and avocado with queso fresco - all delicious and well priced for a fine dining restaurant. Their flan is a must. My only gripe is we felt... More

I guess it is so highly rated that it is easier to be disappointed. Service was good but could be better. The cream of zuchinni was delicious but the entree that was highly reccomended was just alright. Will only go back in a pinch.

This is one of the best restaurants in Mexico. The food has a Mexican trend with original creations. For breakfast you have to get early if you dont want to wait too long. For lunch and dinner it is better but anyway, get early. The variety of wines is excellent including the best mexican wines (wich are not cheap but... More

If you would like to try some fancy Mexican food, this is a famous place to do it - if you don’t mind the smaller portions, slow service and arrogant waiters. I am always in the hunt for the perfect mole. El Cardenal’s is very fine, I particularly like their cheese-stuffed chicken breast mole. However I find myself returning quite... More

You can have a delicious and rich Mexican breakfast or share an excellent lunch with your family, friends or even coworkers. I've been there many times with local people and... More

Three friends and I walked from our hotel in search of this restaurant and loved it! We were greeted by warm, friendly staff, seated with immediate coffee and pastries set on the table then onward to the main meals which we all shared. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented and the atmosphere was so warm and cozy that we hated to... More

They are known to have the best hot chocolate in Mexico City. It's not too sweet. The fresh baked pan dulce her is outstanding--take one to go for a snack later in the day, they are only 20 pesos ($1 US). We ate breakfast here almost every day and looked forward to it.
