I was hesitant about going here as the location was inside the Hilton hotel. Man was I wrong....what a great menu and fabulous food. The menu is extensive and the food great. Unlike me, don’t hesitate.

Having a breakfast or a meal at El Cardenal is an experience that can be traced back to Mexico from the last century to taste one of the best traditional Mexican-style cuisines.

Four of us has a really late lunch there. It's an incredibly good resturant with a very reasonable price. Great location and walking distance to The cathedral of Mexico. Definitely recommend it!

Had breakfast. Good sweets. Fresh baked crisp rolls. Much better than the average American roll. Excellent coffee. Scrambled eggs Mexican style were tasty. Hot sauce was a welcome adder. Good friendly service. Would eat there in a heartbeat again.

This is a traditional mexican breakfast/lunch destination. You have to eat here at least one time if you ever visit. Lines are long and service is just ok but the food is terrific

very good food, either for breakfast (try the chocolate) or lunch, this is a great place. There are other units in other places, but the one in downtown Mexico City is wonderful.

The restaurant is an old house in San Ángel, a very nice neighbourhood in the south of Mexico City. It serves typical Mexican food combined with modern dishes. They have special menus depending of the period of the year.
