Not only expensive in the extreme (both food and wine) but the food rarely exceeded “well prepared, high quality ingredients.” The squash soup met the hype but that was it. Otherwise not innovative. It felt like a factory, getting the multitudes in and out. The new location is simple and modern, which is fine, but the noise level from the... More

My fiancée and I have been lucky enough to eat at many of the "world's 50 best" restaurants. On this occasion we actually got to eat at 2 in one day (Quintonil for lunch- MUCH BETTER, go there!) so I feel that I can give some good feedback. I booked our table quite far in advance as I knew it... More

I was honestly a little doubtful about how good the restaurant might be, based on my previous (and limited) experiences of typical Mexican food. This is not to say I don't like Mexican food but there are aspects of it that can be a little underwhelming at times. I was wrong to doubt. Everything I ate had great flavor, seasoning... More

The dining space is not apropriate for a restaurant. Its difficult to adapt a modern house in Polanco to a restaurant. the main dining room is almost clautrophobic with is low ceiling and far to small Window. Far too many tables in the restaurant, what feels very uncomfortable if you have to listen to the converstations of the tables next... More

After watching Netflix's Chef's Table episode on Enrique Olvera, I knew I had to eat at Pujol. I was not disappointed. Olvera uses traditional Mexican techniques and ingredients to craft dishes that are as delicious as they are beautiful. The service is unrushed, yet attentive. The restaurant is sleek and the modern feel compliments the (slightly - at times) adventurous... More

This is a top ranked spot for a reason. Your only choice is the tasting but allows for a selection on each of 4 courses + a few courses compliments of the chef which runs about $us100/person- a steal compared to other places of this caliber. The dishes, superb and modern were perfectly portioned, although I could have eaten a... More

A memorable meal -- and how often can one honestly say that? Do bring a spirit of adventure, since some of the dishes include ingredients unfamiliar to many. And trust the team here: the output of their resourcefulness and creativity is a delight for the palate. The new venue is certainly a welcome development (for guests if not, apparently, for... More

I have had the good fortune to eat at some great restaurants (e.g. Noma and Arshak), and Pujol follows its own excellent path. While they can run loose on reservations (our table was not vacated on time, and they offered up champagne while we waited), and service is unrushed, the food and experience stand on their own. There was a... More

The service was faultless and the meal delicious, the only thing that would stop me from giving 5 stars is the ambience was a little flat for 20th Best Restaurant in the world. We have been fortunate enough to experience many Michelin starred and indeed top 50 best restaurants in the world, and when I compare it directly to the... More

Description
Once again featured on the San Pellegrino list of the "World's 50 Finest Restaurants"—and moving up thirteen spots to number 36—Pujol is Chef Enrique Olvera's extraordinary personal approach to Mexican cuisine, famed for reinvention and ongoing perfectionism, where tradition and contemporary gastronomy live side by side as expressed in culinary techniques both ancient and modern. Using both imagination and delicacy, Olvera recombines Mexico's nearly infinite ingredients and flavors, demonstrating an extraordinary food culture's potential in obsessive detail.
