Food was good and innovative. We tried to cancel and order and they forced us to pay for it. The manager Memo was unavailable and the waiter Esteban Gonzalez couldn't put his act together giving different made up excuses. Mexico City has plenty of nice places, no need to come hear. I wont return. Shameful experience.

We stayed mostly with entradas as we weren't overly hungry... the hoya santa was excellent. Nice choices of mezcal and absolutely recommend the pechuga. However, you can tell the suffer a bit when too busy and I imagine they're often busy. Some changes in how things flow and service is handled would be good. I'd go back but perhaps on... More

We had a very nice dinner at los danzantes. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. I would highly recommend to eat there. Nothing to complain about.

It can't get better in Mexico City, Coyoacan (the neighborhood were the restaurant is located) takes you back in time to enjoy Mexico as it was 50 or more years ago, the restaurant is located in the main plaza along with other restaurants. The food and the attention is amazing, they have great mezcal and very good bar tender. It's... More

This restaurant is usually the place of choice to take international guests to try a different kind of Mexican cuisine. Details are carefully taken care of, any dish you choose will give you the flavors of traditional cooking with a touch of fancy. Beware on weekends, the waiting lists are long. Nevertheless, the wait is always worth it.

We went here on a Friday, for the prix fixe set lunch menu. I believe they offer this on Wednesdays and Fridays. I am not sure, but I think it is only available by reservation. I tried a week previously, on Wednesday, but was told the first opening was on Friday of the following week (today). The mechanism is a... More

Dear Guest: It's probably the comment that you leave us refers to "Los Danzantes Oaxaca", a restaurant that belongs to our group, but that is in the City of Oaxaca. Was in Mexico city on business. This restaurant recommended by a local coworker. He said all choices good. I had Salmon - and added grilled vegetables. Excellent. Service great too even though they didn't speak much english.

We were here during the "Temporada de Bichos" and had an opportunity to try the excellent "Escamoles" (ant eggs) and "Gusanos de Maguey" (Worms from the plant you make Tequila with) all were great. Service was very good and had a great time. We really liked the enchiladas made with two different moles. The place is upscale and can seat... More

After a nice small meal, we attempted to buy a bottle of wine to take to the hotel. Without asking, they substituted a wine of double the price and tried to slip it past us. When we objected, they lamely said the original wine (on the list) wasn't available. Watch out and take your dining business elsewhere!

I am visiting this place always being in Coyoacan - with the groups, with friends and just alone. The meals are just magnificient. The athmosphere is welcoming and the staff professional and friendly. If you are not from Mexico and still don't know how to drink Tequila in a righ way (and the right Tequila) - ask for "Don Julio... More

Description
Founded in March 1995, Restaurant Los Danzantes is a study in contrasts: a warm colonial building constructed with volcanic stones and natural nopales surrounding it; a delightful bar carved by Joel Rendon and traditional tones of Mexican music set to a modern rhythm; and, of course, a menu that features regional ingredients shining out in fresh, innovative combinations and fusion cooking.

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighbourhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
