You will find typical Mexican food there. I can tell you this is an explosion of all wonderful flavors of the national kitchen. What a difference to the boring Tex-Mex food of the States. People this is really Mexican food making of ingredients giving from the ground and growing under the hot sun of Mexico by their recipes given over... More

The dishes were so special that we don't find them everywhere. Love all the dishes. The moles were a good try. Service was good with non stop refilling of bread.

Was recommended by a local. The food was excellent - peppers, duck and lamb. Superb desserts too. You could sense chef had given thought to it and some pleasant and surprising combinations. Good and attentive service.

We went for lunch following visit to Frida Kahlo museum and we wowed by the helpful English speaking server, Alexis, and the interesting delicious tastes of the dishes he recommended. Being from Austin Texas we foolishly thought we knew something about Mexican food but whoa! What we ate at Los Danzantes was a whole new deal. The flavors were different... More

The food and ambience was great. It was very busy, but we were served properly. The food is tasty and rich in flavour.

This pretty spot is right off the main plaza. Service was excellent and the traditional food was delicious. My husband said the cream of black bean soup was one of the best he's ever tasted. There are options for children off menu, just ask.

I always have dinner with friends and family at this restaurant while visiting Coyoacan. The athmosphere is family oriented and cozy. The menu is very authentic Mexican (not tex-mex it all) and the food is very good and prepared with care. Try your food wih a mezcal or wirh a very refreshing colimita beer. I did not give 5 stars... We went to this place since we had tried the one in Oaxaca. The major difference was the staff. Here the service was awful, very very sloooooooooooooooow then they tried to tell us that it was because that everything is fresh and made at the moment. Well we ordered sodas and a straw that took more than 10 minutes to... More

MY FAVORITE!! Just EXCELLENT!!Superb dishes that are very well presented and the coconut margaritas are my favorite!! A very nice atmosphere with a view of a beautiful park!! I'll defiantly come here again since it's a 15 minute walk from the Frida Kahlo museum which is worth visiting again.

This place was recommended by our private tour guide. It was amazing!! The black bean soup was outstanding and velvety smooth and the filet with black mole was exquisite. Ask for the server Alexis, he truly made the meal special.

Description
Founded in March 1995, Restaurant Los Danzantes is a study in contrasts: a warm colonial building constructed with volcanic stones and natural nopales surrounding it; a delightful bar carved by Joel Rendon and traditional tones of Mexican music set to a modern rhythm; and, of course, a menu that features regional ingredients shining out in fresh, innovative combinations and fusion cooking.

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighbourhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
