If you're visiting Guanajuato, Mercado Hidalgo is a must-see -- "You can get anything you want -- at Alice's Restaurant." Just substitute the words "Mercado Hidalgo." Great fun.

This is a great place to catch lunch, or any meal. There are stalls selling tacos, burgers, and seafood. The fish soup is particularly good. Very inexpensive and great tasting food.

Walk around, check all food stalls, see what people are eating. Go several times, there are too many tasty options for just one visit.
Worth checking out especially if you want to buy a trinket or a little gift for someone. Definitely try & eat inside.

This clean market is full of stalls to buy everything plus food, seafood, and meats. You can also but your souvenirs here. It is a very clean and well organized. I had several tasty and inexpensive meals here.

It's full of little stands for food, condiments etc. but also with shops with artesanal objects and clothing.
