This restaurant is located in the Plazuela Machado. This is a wonderful place to visit on the weekend. There is entertainment, vendors and a wonderful atmosphere. We always order the Blackened Burro (sp?). It is the best steak in Mazatlan. Ernesto is a great waiter. Sit outside to get the most of the atmosphere.

Friends suggested this place as they had eaten there a week before we arrived. We went with them for their 2nd time and WOW!! The Buro (Blackened steak done in butter) was had by 2 of our group and not a scrap left on their plates. Both stuffed chickens were had and they were fantastic (ohhh the sauce , spinach... More

My husband was looking for a stuffed chicken and I was in the mood for beef so after checking all the menu's around the Plaza we decided to try Il Mosto. It was a perfect choice I got the Black Burro steak and it was cooked exactly to my liking and was melt in your mouth tender. Both the steak... More

Haven't been to the restaurant for almost 10 years and it is still there. That in of itself is enough to say yes to it. Some of us had Blackened Burro (almost a baseball steak) literally cooked in blackened butter. I enjoyed it immensely (mind I do love butter. Cooked medium and very tender. Pasta and fish where the dishes... More

A nice break from the Mexican food: Black burro was our favorite. Pasta on the side was very tasteful , and will try that next visit.

We've been to Il Mosto many times over the years. The Black Burro is still an excellent meal if you can get served. Their other selections are basically terrible. The meat is tough or not cooked correctly. But, the greatest problem is getting served. Last night it took over 2 hours to be served and we had to find the... More

We could not decide where to eat so we chose II Mosto as I had read about the "blackened burro" steak on the menu. Can't remember what my wife had but she enjoyed her meal very much. I had the "blackened burro" steak with a baked potato both of which were very generous portions. This was one of the best... More

My husband enjoys going to Il Mosto for the Black Burro. Last night we took a couple who own a black angus ranch in the states and agreed that the fillet was awesome. The waiter was great, but they were short handed and so it was slow getting our check. But it did not matter since we were visiting with... More

As a long time resident we eat out often. The 'Black Burro' steak cannot be beat. The pasta that comes with it is fantastic. It is one of our all time favorites.
