Tacos el Yaqui has been a favorite for years and it never fails to please. The perones are delicious and very spicy, the quesadillas are tasty and simple. This is a simple place that is bustling with locals as well; as tourists in the know.

My son and I stopped in just before noon to the usual 10-15 person deep line. Rosarito small town noticed the regulars in line, whose orders were invisibly expedited. The charm of the original painted plywood clad, 2x4 shed kitchen and blue poly tarped roof is replaced with a well designed, corrugated roof structure, stucco/ cement Kitchen and envious wood... Lines can be a bit of a wait, but so worth it if you can't return later or next day! If you can eat two of these, you must have quite an appetite!

It was hard to find "tacos Perrones" because the real name is Tacos El Yaki. They are AWESOME. Be sure you are really hungry and order one taco at a time, They are big and Yummy!

A block off the beaten path of Rosarito is home of the irresistible perrones- moist, mesquite grilled, chopped pork, melted quesillo smashed beans wrapped in a sturdy flour tortila, side of charred, lime soaked jalapeños. No secret why they have been attracting crowds for almost 30 years.

When I tell people these are the best tacos they've ever eaten, then usually don't believe me. Until their first bite. Seriously, this is almost reason to drive down from San Diego -- they are that good. On one trip to Rosarito, I ate here for lunch every day, four days in a row.
