The best Indian food in Ao Nang. 10/10 every time. Extremely tasty food and friendly staff!

In July 2023, we went on our honeymoon to Ao Nang. The first day we arrived, we were really exhausted and quickly got tired of people trying to get us in at restaurants, but Kishor, who works at Taj, was super friendly and not pushy at all. We said no, but maybe to test them later, and he did not try to convince us after saying no. He just asked if we would give them a chance some other time and that the food would speak for itself, and because of him being so polite, we decided to give them a chance, and boy are we glad we did!! We did not travel to Thailand to eat mostly at an Indian restaurant, but the food here was so great that we kept coming back for more. We were here for 2 weeks, and I think we ordered food here at least 7 times. We tried a few other Indian places too that had good reviews, but every other place was bland in comparison and always super spicy, even the kormas. We would 100% recommend Taj and their chicken vindaloo. Out of all the food we tried, it's our favorite, with the garlic naan. Everything has been really good, but the vindaloo we kept coming back for and were craving when we went home. My husband has been a chef in Norway for 18 years now and is quite picky about Indian food. We went back so many times, even though we were here on a food trip to test various places, and mostly Thai. Needless to say, that's how much we like their food. We're mostly buying takeout as I've had stomach surgery, so I can't eat so much, and takeout is perfect so I can eat relaxed and at my own pace. I also have esophagitis, and sadly, chili is one of the foods I can't eat anymore unless I want to have a trip to the hospital. I asked if they could make the food non-spicy/without chili, and that was never a problem! If you need the food without chili, just be direct about it, and they will meet your request and always strive to give you the best service and good food. Taj got the best vindaloo we've ever had. And the fact that they are able to make vindaloo, which is usually a really spicy dish—non-spicy but still so increadibly balanced and flavorful—makes my heart sing with joy. The boss himself is also so kind and accommodating; he truly cares about the food he serves and happy customers! So I would say, as Kishor said to us when we first arrived, give them a chance; the food will speak for itself!

5 Star Authentic Indian Cuisine and Hospitality

We came here on a recommendation from a friend, and I have to say it's one of the best Indian Restaurants I've ever eaten at anywhere. The hospitality and service from Mr Umesh was fantastic, suggesting dishes based on our Singaporean palate and appetite for spicy food, it was an unforgettable dinner. I highly recommend this place to any and all who are looking for good food. It is slightly pricy, but once you see the portions and taste the quality, you'll find it reasonably priced.

Amazing authentic Indian food experience

I have visited Taj Palace restuarant in Krabi it was memorable the ambience is so good with Bollywood songs on screen, staff is very welcoming represents the Indo-Thai culture they are always ready to help, I have ordered Kadhai Paneer, Daal Yellow, Tandoori Roti Rice and salad. The presentation was authentic treditenal Indian and food was also delicious they also offer masala buttermilk which was much needed and amazing. I highly recommend this place, everyone must visit if visiting Krabi 😘👌

Amazing food at this little Indian in Krabi (Au Nong) I can't recommend it enough. I wanted real north indian food just like home and the chef here understood exactly what I required. It is pure authentic home cooked food. How it should be. The waiters are polite and can't do enough. Defo worth paying a visit if you like proper indian food.

Tasty fresh Thai Food - Excellent value for money

My Husband and I were in Krabi for 4 nights and discovered Kodams Kitchen on night 2 and also ate there on nights 3 and 4. The food was fresh and tasty and excellent value for money and the staff were super efficient and friendly. The surroundings were rustic but clean. Very popular restaurant and if you dont book a table there is a waiting area (which has been full every time we were there). It is tucked out of the way but its reputation goes before it - first class all the way! Thank you to all the lovely staff who work so hard to keep so many people feeling full and content!

Option for Indian food in Krabi

We had our lunch in the restaurant. We had ordered for a tawa subzi, mutton roganjosh, dal fry, steamed rice and rotis. Firstly, the quantity of the food is fairly healthy. The quantity served per dish was more than most of the restaurants. Coming on to the taste, while veg dishes were good, mutton roganjosh was not up to the mark. The service of the restaurant was excellent which was a differentiation. The ambiance was alright. Hygiene level was good. Rating it four purely due to the service level.

Excellent Taj Cuisine

We spent 2 weeks at AoNang and visited many restaurants. Unfortunately we dropped to Taj Palace just 2 days before the end of our holiday so we visited only twice the place. We like both Indian and Taj Cuisine but because in AoNang, we ate Taj food. It was excellent. Best we had got during the entire holiday. The price is perhaps little bit higher than in other restaurants in AoNang but in my opinion, food is worth of it. Also the atmosphere is reluctant and frendly but still the customer is "the Boss". My wife got trapped to restaurants tamarind sauce. She got a big bowl which we brought home for further use. I can recommend Taj Palace from my full heart.

Great food and friendly staffs

Taj Palace Indian Restaurant offers two types of menu - Indian and Thai and both cuisine are delicious and for good price. The advantage of this restaurant is the location in the main shopping street in Ao Nang and also the possibility to pay by credit card. Staffs are well-behave with professional manners and are friendly and open to help you with your choices.

Amazing food, went above and beyond for you, didn’t have the drink that I wanted on the menu so went to the shop and got me what I wanted. I have a lot of allergies and they listen to exactly what I wanted and it was made to perfection. The stuff are very friendly and helpful, and spoke good English, I couldn’t fault this restaurant and would recommend to anyone, I will definitely be returning.

Delicious and unique food

We went there with a family of 5, the place has an Indian menu, Thai menu, Seafood menu, International menu and Kid's menu. The atmosphere is very relaxing with many fans that blowing air to keep everyone cool. I would recommend people ordering one item in Chef's speciality. The customer service is very good as someone is continuously checking if you have enough drink or food. Me and my family would definitely coming back here again.

We visited Taj Palace as two brits craving some Indian food and this place did not disappoint. The service and food was incredible the drinks were very good - we ordered the chicken pakora to start and it was so crispy and delicious. I would recommend this place as a top Indian in ao nang.

Dinner in Taj Palace

Normally i dont give reviews but this time i have to. First i must say that if you are a foodie, ofcourse you can find "good" food everywhere in Ao Nang but this was beyond anything else. Rich Indian flavours and just perfectly cooked boneless chicken(see taj's specials). Also very friendly staff and they humored our 1year old son when we were eating. You can also get a good wine by the bottle here in a fair price. Food and service 6/5. Thank you, we will be back!

Amazing indian food with good service

Our dishes came fast and they were very delicious. The waiter also asked how spicy we want the food which we appreciated a lot. Cheese naan was excellent too. Service was very good. For good indian food highly recommended!

I've tasted much better around here

It is the third indian restaurant we visit in krabi. The first 2 was really good. But this one was very disappointing comparing to the other options and the much higher price. Just for the record we asked the waiter to recommend us the best dish in the ristorante, which we doing in every indian restaurant around here and until Taj Palace it was a big success. I highly recommend to just try one of the other many options around here
