I visited there for a beer yesterday. Was told they were closed down. Landlord was loading his bently with clothes and looked like he was leaving.

Excellent is the word I’d use! Excellent food, excellent service and friendly staff and excellent value for money. The restaurant is now open again at lunchtime 12-2.30 and it’s really worth a visit. Their Lunch Club choices are cheap but great. Ignore the negative review...More

I think you probably will be able to. Contact the manager by telephone just to confirm. If not there is a social club in St Johns Rd, not far from the Plough that does have a function room for hire.

Yes very dog friendly, in there last weekend with 3 dogs between us in the bar-obviously not in the restaurant part.
