The Service was impeccable, and the food was lovely. Living in Wolvercote, and having a pub such as The Trout Inn, I promise you when I say The Jolly Boatman is the nicest place with the best tasting food! Ratings in comparison to the Trout, which would score 1 out of 5, for service/food/weird choice on the menu! The Jolly... More

Nice food and great location. Watch out for the grey haired old git manager Mark Hughes lookalike! Ha ha!

Went there for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic, had to sit down for half an hour after eating. If you have a sweet tooth you really got to try the creme brûlée it is to die for, you get an absolute mountain of food and it's cooked to a high standard and presented beautifully will be back

Rather quaint old pub with various rooms, we were taken to the extension dining room to a pleasant window table. Reasonable menu and attentive, helpful young male waiter. Food was tasty and acceptable for pub food.

Welcomed by the staff. Radiators on for the cold weather. Very good range of lunch items on the menu. Staff perfect. Superb location by the canal. Will definitely return.

We pitched up here after a truly dismal experience down the road at The Boat Inn. I asked to taste the wine after having had to leave the vile stuff I'd been served down the road and the barman was happy to help. The wine was nice, we ordered some lunch and settled down at a table by the canal... More
