Cat Island is the home of Bahamian rake and scrape music, and this is the best place on Cat Island to expderience it thanks to the late night dinner performances.

I visited Arthur's Town in March 2017. It was quite a drive up from the south end of Cat but well worth the trip. The place is was lively, had clean bath rooms, and excellent smells coming from the kitchen. I didn't order any food but the plates of fried fish and conch that I saw looked delicious. I was... The food was excellent - I recommend the lobster; great atmosphere, we had a lot of fun. Julian is a wonderful host and musician. There was a large crowd the night we were there and we all stayed for the Rake and Scrape music after dinner on the porch (we all took part and learned how to play the saw... More

Julian was a blast! The food was great! Service was FUN!!!! You absolutely have to go here just to meet the people that hang out here. We planned to just go for dinner, but we stay for HOURS and met some great locals and travelers!

I didn't know what "rake and scrape" was until I got here. It is local music whose instruments include a wood saw. The local food is worth the visit, and the local music makes it more memorable.

We had the ribs and the deep fried conch. The ribs were the tenderest I have ever had. The conch was very good. One Bahama mama is enough. Every one was very friendly and helpful

We stayed at Sammy T's in March of 2016 for a week. Da Smoke Pot was recommended and we obliged. Julian runs a great place to eat and "hang out" with the rake and scrape music after dinner. He encourages everyone to get involved with the music and it is a blast. You get to hang out with the locals... More

From the moment you step in, you feel like it's your local hangout. The owner, Julian, will make you feel at home and introduce you to everyone the place. You'll meet locals, tourists that have been going there for years, and people like us who just went there for the 1st time (and rent a car the next day, just... More

Tucked away on a road off the main road in Arthur's Town is the very colourful Da Smoke Pot. Its welcoming porch is set up with picnic tables and looks out at the beautiful ocean, a really nice setting. We stopped by earlier in the day to make our reservation for that night. Greeted by the ever friendly Julian, he... More
