I just left Anand and this place is sooooo good. It is clean, small, great service, and serves the best. We got the combination appetizer and my hubby had beef curry (spicy) and I had shrimp vandula (I think That's the name of it - again spicy). All this with two beers AND a glass of wine only. $49.00 USD.... More
Great food for a reasonable price, but only suitable for take-out... As I was not in the right mood to cook, and didn't want to spend a fortune, we decided on Anand in Simpsonbay corner. Was I disappointed: definitely so, as it was not at all a cozy restaurant. As mentioned earlier, the Indian food is really tasty, but it... More
Very quiet little upstairs restaurant on the street approaching our resort. We were the only ones there for about half an hour, which worried us a little, but then it started picking up. Chicken tiki Marsala and lamb bhuni was very good. Hot naan and basmati rice rounded off our meal, dal saga was also good. Highly recommend if you... More
After watching "The Hundred Foot Journey" I was seriously craving Indian food. Anand it is! As usual I had Samosas and Palak Paneer; Captain Trevor had Chicken Korma, Briyani Rice and Garlic nan. All we could do was mmmmmm and ahhhhhh. Souls fed, we could go about our lives. Absolutely wonderful.
The food in Anand is good with ample choices of dishes. The owner seems very hasty and the ambiance in the restaurant is below average. If you just care for good food, come here. If your are looking for a nice ambiance or view, go somewhere else.
Every year my husband and I go to Anand, both in Simpson Bay and Philipsburg . The food is great and the owner is very attentive. We look forward to eating chicken jalfrazi . Other dishes, breads, and appetizers are wonderful!
We ate at the one on Billy Foley road. Small quaint place. But the food was fantastic and reasonably priced compared to many other restaurants in the area. Other Indian restaurants have a better view or better atmosphere but none compare in quality of the food.
Service was beyond slow and no one checked on us during the meal. I found the food to be inexpensive and OK, while the bride found it to be poor quality. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless your expectations are inexpensive but ok curry served by people who do not really want customers.
They have two locations; one in Philipsburg and the other at the entrance of Pelican...I love their food; very reasonably priced and delicious food. Have not found a place to beat it in Toronto or Montreal yet.
