We sat outside late on a Sunday night. The atmosphere inside was nothing special but sitting outside in La Placita, even on a quiet(ish) night was a joy. The staff was very attentive. The food was our favorite meal of the trip. The fish and vegetables were unbelievably fresh and perfectly prepared. I love crab legs but he doesn't because... More

The restaurant is easy to find; it is in the heart of Santurce Mercado in San Juan. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Service, food ,price. I do recommand specially the red snapper, witch you will have chosen first among a lot of fresh fish. Have it cooked " à la plancha", ( on the grill). Best fish I had since a long time.... More

The food was Ok, we have dined before in other trips to Puerto Rico. This time the attitude and service were terrible. Starting from the waiters to the lady at the cashier. You had to beg to order and also to get your bill. The place was full but not as bad as other times. We noticed other tourist like... More

We went on a Friday night, the street fair was packed with dancing and drinking. The restaurant was also full and very noisy but it was worth the minor inconvenience of having to yell across the table to my husband! We shared an order of cod fritters, creamy texture and great flavor, and the red snapper, excellent whole fresh fish.... More

Crowded, expensive and the wait for a table can be exhausting; regardless of all these inconveniences, I always go back. What used to be a garage is now a small family run restaurant. Take it from there. Fish is always fresh. Bring $$$

It was highly recommended by our tour guide, it has everything I love about an eatery: off tourist map, next to a real market, in a not particularly fashionable neighborhood... We went there for lunch and it was full of locals, another great sign. But the food was just... not bad. The small octopus was dry and chewy, the grilled... More

This restaurant has been around forever. While overpriced (with the exception of the Rice with Calamari), the food is quite good. The service is not even mediocre and the ambience, nill. There are much better seafood choices out there, but the cazuela and calamari dishes are very good. Certainly choose La Tasca over Santaella, which is right across the Plaza.... More

I went there twice, as it came highly recommended by the landlord. Seafood is fresh and dishes are tasty. Once I had sea snails, the other-baby eel for appetizers . Both were amazing. Baby octopus was a but chewy, but still flavorful. Their sangria is to die for. Place does not take reservation . In Oct'2016 they didn't take Amex... More

I use to go this place if Im looking for fresh and seafood. Its is not a big place but this people treat you like a family, Everyday is fresh fish and seafood, so if you are looking for a very good catch of fish and quality , this is the place to be in La Placita de Santurce. No... More

El Pescador has always been a classic in the Placita. The seafood is not fancy nor adorned with fancy names but fresh and fantastic. Has off-the-menu items, such as the arroz con langostinos (rice with prawns), which is delicious with a side of tostones (fried green plantains, thin and just with the right crunch, or the arañitas). When you see... More
