Had everything from sangria to the potted chxn with olives. Played of meat and monchego and paella. All was coined fresh and spiced well, very flavorful. Service spot on. Reasonably priced.

Great location located right off the main square in Old San Juan. Service was great and the food was very good. Prices were in the mid to upper range but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We we're shopping in Old San Juan and came across Toro Salao at the moment we were ready to sit, cool off, eat and drink. It was great luck. Food delicious and lovely presentation- Service wonderful, space cute and interesting. There is a lovely out door patio but we opted for the cool of the AC inside. The Queso Fundito... More

A return to San Juan on another cruise, we returned to Toro Salao for lunch. Outdoors for lunch was just right for us after a day exploring. Fish Taco's were excellent. I just wish the service was more attentive, as good as the food.

Visuted in March 2017. Nice patio- but it basically ends there. Calamari was tasteless. Queso fundido was good but very small portion. Fish tacos were small and not very tasty. Fried shrimp tacos also not tasty. Would not go back.

I am really unimpressed by the Spanish paella:undercooked rice, too much salt and little seafood. The chicken and rice is also too simple: mix of tomato and chicken and lack of flavor (though the rice is cooked this time). The environment also isn't going to keep you feel like sitting in a restaurant, which was what we wanted.

Both times that I have been to PR we have eaten here. OMG The fish tacos are amazing, the calamari awesome. The best thing is the Sangria. Real nice atmosphere. We always sit outside. lt's in the middle of Old San Juan and you can see the cruise ships from there. The service is really really friendly. I saw that... More

The Patio style seating and atmosphere is very quaint in a very tropical, colonial part of Old San Juan. The waitress was very friendly and was happy to speak to us in both Spanish and English. She gave us her honest opinion of what was good and what was not, instead of saying everything was good, which was refreshing. We... More

On a recent visit to Old San Juan we decided to have lunch at a sidewalk cafe. Toro Salao looked inviting and it was a nice day so we gave it a try. We were seated quickly and served one of the local beers. They have an interesting drink menu but we were thirsty so beer worked well. The menu... More
