You have few choices while in the Punta Cana resort and Mamma Luisa's is the sole specializing in Italian food. The pasta was a bit gummy, the shrimp cocktail (which looked delicious) was substantial but was simply tasteless and obviously from frozen shrimp - two of our party could not even eat it. Burrata was reasonable considering we were in... More

Both my wife and I had the Lasagna. good sized portion. Hot. Plenty of cheese. Tasted good. My wife regularly eats lasagna and she thought it was good. I don't have it much and also thought it was good. Reasonably priced. Timely service. Came with warm bread which was good.

While our group generally likes to keep to local style cooking while traveling we were caught in a rain storm on the way to the grocery store so ducked in to Mamma's for a quick lunch. We were so glad we did - it was quite a very good meal! The ingredients were all fresh and local and prepared quite... More

Mama Luisa's has an extensive menu, with a lot of standard Italian dishes as well as some local items. The food is fresh and delicious. The restaurant is simple and unpretentious - there's great seating outside which is fun for people watching. It's located in a small outdoor "mall" which is lively and not noisy. The service is excellent with... More

First things first. IF you do not speak Spanish, INSIST on getting a waiter/waitress that speaks english. Food is SOLID, but you don't always get what you asked for. My wife asked for arriabata pasta and GOT penne putanesca. Thank goodness it was quite good. My lasagna was better than average as well. It took our waiter about 4 TRIES... More

I am always a bit skeptical of places that offer a pasta puttanesca as I am usually disappointed. Not at Mama Luisa. Excellent puttanesca sauce. We were so impressed with the quality of the pasta and sauces, we ate here twice. Prices are reasobnable and ask for a table outside.

After weeks of raving reviews from fellow resort visitors, we had to try it. The best part is they had a kids menu and more veg options. The kids really enjoyed their spaghetti and penne pasta in simple sauces. The adults enjoyed the apps and awesome pasta. Couldn't have gone any better.

Great service, delicious food. This was the gem at the Punta Cana Village. From their calamari to their pasta, everything was great!

Good, Basic Italian food with OK service. Although they served or appetizers and salads at the same time as the entrée, the food was warm and tasty. And the staff was welcoming.

The Mamma Luisa Bar Trattoria its a very special place, that surge for the passion and great cooking taste of Mrs Luisa Patrovita. Who is Italian as well and since 1960's as a destiny matter, has been related to this land as her own. Mrs Luisa is dedicated to this business among with her daughter and son (Rossana and Joaquin) who help her running the business. La Mamma (as is called by all her customers) arrived to the Punta Cana zone at the end of the 90's almost as a casualty called basically by her long time friend Mr. Frank Rainieri and the need at the moment to find someone reliable and trustful for managing one of the most beautiful restaurant in the zone...LA YOLA. located at the Punta Cana Marine. Then, after several years of successful management of this place and created a brand name...(Mamma Luisa).. became along with her daughter Rossana who had been arrived from Italy too, the idea to give birth that name with a new establishment at the Punta Cana Bowling Center that was just beginning to develop. The business opened its doors on May 11th of 2004 and since then and thanks to the huge support given by the customers not just locals but also foreigners that regularly visit the place, has maintain its development along with the great evolution of Punta Cana.At Mamma Luisa, without any doubts, the customers feel like in their own houses as well, and reflects the design of the establishment... A native typical house full of Italian details... it is a fusion of the typical traditional structure and the Italians as well !! You could enjoy a very fine wine or a very chilly beer, meanwhile listening not just a very good Italian music but also a Juan Luis Guerra Merengue...., you could see pictures of the entire Patrovita family at the different corners of the place and without any doubts will enjoy a delicious dish made with the very fresh ingredients and then after a BOUN APPETITO said by Mrs Luisa, who just in a very rare occasions (like a very deserved vacation) ...will be leading her kitchen !!!
