This place felt like heaven after one week of not so good all-inclusive food. Delicious, simple, fresh middle eastern food that comes with friendly service. Baba Ghanoush and chicken kebab were great with ice cold beer.

I've been to this local restaurant several times now from my various trip to La Romana and each time iv'e found the food, service and pricing to be very good. I've usually let my friends who live here order the food an just go with the flow. It's always been good. Appetizers were delicious, hummus was great and the arroz... More

We had the delight in being brought here by a Guia Touristico (Tourist Guide) named Ramon. We had a two different dishes-beef and onions with steamed vegetables and fried chicken pieces with beans and rice (the chicken dish was recommended by the guide who we asked to join us-I just let him order his meal and I asked for the... Shish Kebab is a safe haven for those of us who are used to eating ALL of our meals at an all-inclusive resort, fearing the unknown if we venture out. Go to Shish Kebab! You will be so glad you did. The owner speaks English as one of his primary languages. He went to college at Georgia State! So right... More

A friend recommended this restaurant and it didn't let us down. They specialize in Arab and Dominican food and both are delicious. They have a good wine selection and prices are reasonable. Parking is available

Nice place to make a quick pit stop in La Romana. I come here every time I go to La Romana. Food is really good. You can find Arab and other types of food like sandwiches and hamburguers. Prices are alright, they accept credit cards which is not a given in La Romana. The service gets a little slow in... More

I've never been to their well known location in La Romana only to the one at the Next gas station on Autovia del Coral (the highway between La Romana and Punta Cana). On this location, you find a comprehensive menu of Dominican and Lebanese cuisine. Delicious kipes and fantastic hummus. You should also try their empanadas (we had both lambi... More

Though specialising in Middle Eastern cuisine, Yolanda and Juan's menu have a range of local (Dominican) dishes. In fact if you speak to them beforehand, they will endeavour to cater for special requests. Their hospitality is excellent. Prices are reasonable. Seating is available indoors with air-con, and also a renovated outside terrace to watch the world go by. The recipes have been passed from generations and after 46 years, the restaurant continues to develop its menu and deliver an excellent mouth watering experience. Do not forget to try the dishes for which they are most known for, the Kipe and Catibias. The Kipe is a traditional arabic dish made out of bulgur wheat filled with meat and fried to perfection and the Catibia is their version of an empanada made out of yuca instead of flour and filled with a variety of options like meat, chicken, cheese, conch or a combination of these. They are amazing! Shish Kabab has now opened their second location on the Autopista del Coral, it's the highway that connects to the east coast of the island. Coming from Santo Domingo, it will be after the first toll, just before the second one next to the Gas Station Next. If you are coming directly from La Romana, it will be just before the first toll. The new location offers the same menu and has created a cozy, elegant and tropical ambiance that is perfect for a road trip stop for food and refreshments. Their natural juices are a must, in addition of course to the Kipes and Empanadas, which they are famous for. If you are traveling back home from the Punta Cana airport, this will definitely be the best goodbye meal of a lovely visit.
