Terrible service and overpriced food. Our waitress was rude from the moment we arrived, which was strange because RD people are so friendly. We were told our order would take 40 minutes but after 1&1/2 hours our food was still not served. Finally, we were...told only 5 minutes more, but it took another 15 minutes. My son ordered chicken fajitas which was a huge plate of mostly peppers and onion, very little chicken and only 3 tortillas. We asked for more tortillas. No apologies, and we were charged 75 pesos for 3 extra tortillas. We felt ripped off and badly treated, and we asked not to be charged for the extra tortillas, but the manager refused and was so rude. Don’t go to this restaurant.More

Very good food but the waiting time was too long, we waited one hour and ten minutes after we ordered to finally receive the food. They have a very nice dish presentation and the environment is nice if you like Dominican music, the place is...decorated in a colonial style and it´s mid-open air design.More

A group of 6 of us took a city tour excursion in Puerto Plata and we went to eat there. It was suggested by locals. Tried the local dishes and both beers Presidente and Bohemian. Staff speak English, are friendly and the place is clean....Whatever we tried was delicious. Offers l Tex-Mex cruisine as well which is a plus.More

100% delicious and inexpensive = win/win Skina was recommended to us for their authentic Dominican cuisine and it did NOT disappoint! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and then walked it off at the town center which is a 5 minute walk from the restaurant. Lovely...experience.More

I had dinner here twice and both times the food was excellent. It says something on the menu about using "grandma's spices," and I can almost believe grandma is in the kitchen cooking, because the food has great, authentic Caribbean flavor. I grew up eating...ropa vieja in Dominican and Cuban diners in the New York area, but this was the best ropa vieja I've ever had. The diner version can be greasy, but there was not a shred of grease here. Call it "elevated ropa vieja," though the price was certainly not elevated. The quality of the food is amazing considering the low prices, even by Dominican standards. The restaurant itself has a charming and creative atmosphere, again, surprising given how inexpensive it is. It did take a bit of time to get my food, but that's standard in the DR, and I'm sure they are cooking everything from scratch. The young waitstaff was a little awkward but they're trying. Little to no English is spoken, but to me that's not an issue. It's part of travelling. Overall, highly recommended.More

The worst service ever! We waited 1.5hr to get a burger that was burnt and tasted like it was cooked in old oil. Gross! The bread was thin like a sheet of paper and mushy. No forks, no knives, and we had to harass the...waistress to get a beer as she seemed careless and completely inattentive. They include an automatic 10% tips but do not offer proper service, what a shame. I went to the bathroom for two minutes and someone was banging at the door screaming like a lunatic. Waistress would kick the cats around with her foot, very rude. The only positive thing were the cats around who were the only friendly ones. Jeez! Save your money and run!More

The location is great. Cute, intimate resto in the heart of downtown. However, the food and service fail to deliver on its promise. I’ve been coming here when I visit the city for the last decade, at least, and it seems to be going downhill....Today’s visit I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, which was overcooked and fell apart. It was crunchy, not from the bacon, but charred meat. Cheese left you on a scavenger hunt looking for it. Food came out 1 hour after ordering, and waitress never stopped by to offer us more beers. Place was moderately busy, not packed, and should have been able to handle the volume without ease. We had to flag the waiter down, when she appeared from the back. Food isn’t expensive necessarily, but the whole experience left much to be desired... which is a shame when you learn that the 10% gratuity is calculated for you. They get their tip, even with shoddy service.More

I’ve had drinks here before, but today was the first time I ate here. One of the best bacon cheeseburgers I’ve had in the DR! Really good meat for the burger and they didn’t skimp on the meat patty like so many do. Very good...flavor. My husband had the fiajitas mixtas and said they had good flavor and all of the accompanying condiments were very fresh! We will return to try more from their menu which also includes typical Dominican fare.More
