We came here for lunch after a morning walking tour of Old Puerto Plata. At the northeast corner of Parque Central, the inviting porch extends into the classical Victorian interior with a patterned tile floor and dark wood bar, a women's club in 1894 rebuilt...after a fire. We were welcomed in English, seated at a corner table with an overhead fan, presented with menus, water glasses filled and orders taken. We used the nice clean restrooms, then watched the cruise ship tour groups in the park, and munched on the complimentary plate of tomato-garlic canopes until our hot meals arrived. My wife's Linguini de Camarones and my Linguini Fruitti di Mare were full of seafood, delicious, and with a cold Presidente, less than $24. This is a fine restaurant in a beautiful building with an attentive staff.More
