I had big plans on eating at Plaza Bieu but unfortunately it was closed down during my trip. When I go back I will definitely check it out.

We had a nice trip to Plasa Bieu today, only to find it closed. The food market has temporarily moved to the Round Market building a few 100 meters towards the water. We visited on 18 May 2018, and did not see (or look for)...More

Plaza Bieu is an iconic part of punda. A variety of local dishes are on offer and it can get quite busy during the lunch break. Try the stoba, funchi, fish dishes and goat.

Fantastic local cuisine, cooked by the local people for reasonable prices. It is open only for lunch, till 3 pm. Try the cactus soup, pumpkin pancake, or the iguana soup!

This open marketplace/cafe is a bit confusing at first, but if you sit down at a picnic table where space is available (and don't be surprised if you are joined by strangers) the waitresses are helpful, if a bit harried. Good fish, paella, etc. There's...More

My wife and I ate lunch at Plasa Bieu while on vacation in Curacao. One of the most flavorful, fresh meals we had while in Curacao. Definitely something every visitor needs to experience.

We were in the mood for local food, and Plaza Bieu was recommended by the hotel staff. This is near the floating bridge, and in a part of town that seems to be local hangout during the day. First of all, all of the food...More

The old market is moved (probably temporarily) to the round market, but it is nicely marked, so no problem. We went to Ms. Yvonnes, because of all the great reviews here and we were terribly disappointed. We had pork and fish, because it was the...More

It is an older place, think of an open market where people shop and eat... I can relate to a swap meet.

Leave the airport and head straight here. Seriously. Located temporarily in the round market, right next door. We dined at Ms Yvonne’s and daughter Stephanie’s. If you want local cuisine, home cooked to perfection then this is your place. Order at the window and take...More

It's a long walk but picturesque. You'll need a map.. And if you're coming from a cruise you may find Plasa Bieu a little rustic by contrast. I love it, but it's really tailored to working men..

I think they are open. They only serve lunch from 11:00am to 2:00pm though. No dinner service. You can pay in USD but will receive change in Antillean Guilders. Small bills, $20.00, are recommended.
