super busy all day and night.... mojitos are good and priced at 5CUC... a bit dearer than usual 4CUC in other places.
live music and fun atmosphere. great to call in on your way to wherever.
rather touristy in the day as groups are led past for photo ops.

If you are the sort of person who craves authenticity and shuns commercialised tourist traps with loads of people taking photos of themselves, the walls [!] and the waiters, then don't go! It is permanently crowded and nearly all of the customers are tourists, but nevertheless we really liked it. The place simply has a great buzz and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the mojitos - much better than many reviews had suggested. The staff were lively and efficient and were quite unfazed by the drama when someone got locked in the loo - perhaps not an unknown occurrence?
I don't know if you can reserve tables, but it would be a good idea if you can.

I have been here a few times and really enjoy the upstairs restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious. We had a lovely shrimp dish and a flat steak loaded with flavor. All the dishes come with rice and beans. There is also a bar and a separate band upstairs, so walk up the narrow staircase, have a seat and settle in. We liked it so much that one day we
had both lunch and dinner there. It is also a nice place to relax with an after meal drink and enjoy a cigar.

The worst Mojito's we had in Havana.
I know this bar has a great reputation, but sadly the reviews did not match the reality.
Expensive yet average food, poor service standards and tourists wondering around the restaurant constantly taking photos was irritating!

The service and food were poor and we do not have unrealistic standards. It was early evening and there was 3 other couples on the top balcony some get drinks only, some eating and some finishing up. There was 3 waiters Bob the top balcony who had very poor customer service skills. When I looked over at one point one waiter was looking right at me and picking dry boogers out of his nose. DISGUSTING! If you want to pick dry boogers from your nose go to the restroom right behind you. The wait staff seemed more consumed with setting up for a large party that had not arrived. We had to finally ask to place our order as the wait staff never came to take our order. We both ordered the Cuban sandwich because some friends of ours had talked to us about how delicious it the sandwich was at the restaurant. Honestly, it was the worst food we have eaten in Puerto Vallarta in the 10 years we have been coming to Puerto Vallarta. Stay away from this restaurant there are plenty of other amazing restaurants in the Romantic zone or on the Malecon. I have attached a picture of the bread and meat on the sandwich. The meat was incredibly dry and the bread dominated the sandwich. Each half of the sandwich got 3 little pieces of meat in the picture.

The place is quite famous with Hemingway. I can assure you that you will find Hemingway in every corner of Havana. There is nothing special about this place and you can easily avoid with no regrets.
First of all, it is full of tourists and expect a sort of rush which does not feel very relaxing. We were directed to sit on the second floor but no one asked us if we wanted to sit right next to musicians. I can listen to some music but I prefer this choice to be mine, not to be directed. On top of that, you have to tip them after each music and I can tell you that they are expecting 10-20 USD/EUR bills. They were definitely unhappy when we tipped with 1000 Cuban pesos.
About the food and the so-called famous mojito. I have asked for chicken from the menu but we were limited only to lobster and beef, which are some of the most expensive meals on the menu. Lobster was the only good thing and that's why I am giving two stars. The mojitos are actually not made when you are there but they are prepared in advance and served to you on your order. There are definitely far better places when it comes to cocktails in Havana.

La Bodegita del Medio and mojito should be synonyms!! That means all! People that leave bad reviews for their mojito they simply don't know how a mojito should taste. Respect to the barman on the main pic as he is serving since 1991 and he is an absolute master in mojito's!!! Thanks for teaching me. Love from Grecia!!!

Crowded little bar choked full of tourists taking selfies. The mojitos are watered down, made in advance. Pictures of this bar adorn almost every souvenir in Havana though, so make the pit stop then enjoy a proper mojito somewhere else.

Me and my husband came down on our honeymoon. Our waitress Jen recommended the Lonja Al Ajillo to eat and Mojitos to drink. It was so good that we ate there 4 times during our week stay!
My husband said it was the best food he’s ever eaten. Amazing food, great Mojitos and we made some new friends. Definitely check it out and get the Lonja Al Ajillo and Mojitos!

Ernest Hemmingway, the great American novelist of the 20th Century loved the mojitos at Bogeguita. Their secret ingredient was its' simplicity
The same for the food.
The Vieja ropa which is basically shredded roast beef is delicious and consistent whether you devour it at their Havana or Varadero locations (and there are more locations as well).
Add flan and coffee for dessert and you have a meal for whom the food tolls.

It was noon on a Sunday when I visited this bar where it is claimed to have created the mojito. It was crowded in the bar and outside in front of the bar. There were street performers entertaining for tips. Souvenir vendors were located next to the bar. There were a number of tourists watching and filming the bartender making mojitos. It was a fun Cuban street vibe experience.

I really enjoyed visiting and eating here. Service was great and very quick. They had a live music band on which made the atmosphere great. The food was good and great value for menu - one place in Havana where they are not ripping tourists off!

In Havana we went to Bodeguita del Medio, very late so people had their meal already but we where hungry so we decided to try as before the food is good, the ropa vieja with motors and cristianos wow, and a good mojito at the end.
Some times confusion the change with the currency but everything for two people was around the 750 cuban pesos which is around 45 CAD no bad at all considering I was hungry so order ropa vieja, salad, moros and cristianos and sweet potato fries with a bear and two mojitos after.
Will go again and again.

Went with a group of a dozen people and enjoyed many many mojitos, good food and a great Cuban band. Service was terrific despite our fairly large party. We were in an upstairs small room with 5 small tables or so, just perfect for our group and room for the band too! Food was enjoyed by all; my lobster came with almost-too-much lobster packed in a shell, the best I had in Havana,

A small bar down in the old part of town, but just relax and enjoy the atmosphere, after a few mojito's you will relax and enjoy it. Very touristy but worth the visit and enjoy a well made and very nice mojito. If you stay a while and chat to the bar tender and just watch him making the cocktails passing the time of the day, what else is there to do. A must place to come and see and enjoy, recommend.
