The menu is a bit misleading with fast food like burgers and pizza, however they have an excellent suggestion la chucheria. We took the one with chicken that comes with tostones, rice and a salad. All very tasty. Good and friendly service.

I went with my husband and mom to the new headquarters of 42 and 13 in Playa. The quality of the food was not according to what "La Chuchería" has us used to. The croquettes with less quality, they looked like Vima. We ordered two Helena Ruth and the strawberry jelly was not of the usual quality, quite acidic and dark. We couldn't eat it whole. The chips that accompanied the dish were either overcooked or raw, not to mention pure fat. Just highlighting the ice cream whey and spring salad was the only good thing. He left much to be desired this experience. It is a pity, because we were very excited about the opening of the new headquarters since we live very close.

I journeyed by foot to the “La Chucheria” Sports Bar from the NH Capri after first making a short stop at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba (which is a short block away) to exchange some money. There is about a 6% better exchange rate (for CDN dollars at least) vs the NH Capri and when the CDN dollar has such a poor value (as of today), every bit counts.
Anyhow, this restaurant was listed in the Lonely Planet Havana pocket handbook so I decided to try it out for lunch.
Take a note of the map I’m including. It’s probably best to walk along the Malecon until you get to this location and keep an eye out for the white and red striped building as it’s a few hundred metres in from the Malecon.
I ordered the Chucheria pizza and added only the chicken breast topping, and oh my god. I’m not sure if it’s because this was my first pizza after having been on a ketogenic diet for almost 4-months, but it was absolutely delicious. The pizza crust was super thin but *NOT* crumbly. Rather, the crumb was tender (probably from a high hydration ratio) and was best folded in half and then eaten.
The flavours of tomato and basil just popped out at you, and accompanied by the ice-cold Heineken, it was a match made in heaven. I had one pizza and two beer, and with tip it was $13CUC.
The staff barely speak any English - that’s my only caveat, however they were friendly.
If you’re in the Vedado area of Havana, this is a definite thumbs up for lunch or dinner if you’re cost conscious and in the mood for pizza or a sandwich.

Had heard of the pizzas here from a number of locals and they didn’t let us down! Fantastic quality proper thin base crispy pizzas and real burgers that may make you forget you’re in Cuba and some of the interesting food you get at times!
It’s always busy and plenty of cubans/delivery drivers popping in for takeaway

The business is called La Chucheria sports bar, but there were no sports on TV lol. However, I did enjoy my visit. The food was tasty and the beer even better. The waitress was awesome.

I visited today with friends. The set up is really cozy however the pasta was super oily, the burger meat undercooked (she sent it back in twice) and he pizza crust was super thin. The pizza did taste okay however. Overall I’d say it was overpriced and I wouldn’t go back

This was, hands down, my 16yr old sons favorite place to eat while we were in Cuba! It was my favorite place for mojitos (well, if my favorite bartender was not on break - the back up bartender needs more training). We ate here after a disappointing dinner at Opera. Turns out it was walking distance from our apartment - so we came back another night too! We had pizza, burgers, sandwiches, ice cream and many mojitos! All very good, fast and cheap.

Not exactly authentic Cuban food but it was very good and quick service. It is air-conditioned which was a major plus on a hot day. It is reminiscent of a sports bar in the mid 1990's

The first time that we visited this Cafeteria was the 2nd day of our journey to Cuba in December 27,2018. Our Cuban friend introduced us and we went two more days. We waited few minutes to get sited inside with air conditioning.
We asked for croquetas, coffee and Formula 1 bagette sandwiches.
Every thing was very good.

We went twice for dinner, after we had a disappointing experience in one of the fancier and much more exopensive restaurants.
The place is simple and modern, but everything we tried was excellent. And they make great cocktails!
