What a bizarre location for such a good restaurant. Food was really great and the staff (Claudia) were fantastic. Like stepping back in time in a crumbling shell that was once a very grand building.

This place is much hyped (Virgin Atlantic who we flew in with even recommend it on their welcome to Cuba film), so this inevitably means it’s always booked out and may risk become a little lazy. We managed to grab a late lunch booking however...More

There is a lot of hype about this place, although it is very good when we were there they were out of many of their main dishes. Bad luck I guess. However what we did order was very good. I would certainly go for the...More

I've been to La Guarida 6 times over the last 7 years, and I've always been eager to return, but my most recent visit (January 2019) spoiled what is usually a pleasant experience. After being seated in a surprisingly half-empty restaurant (enough expanding already), despite...More

In the heart of Havana , in a picturesque location there is a restaurant that no visitor should miss. La Guarida has all the elements to make you feel like part of an old black and white movie about Cuba. The building is an old...More

This is probably the coolest venue in Havana. The design is simply breathtaking and the food was great (oxtail risotto melts in your mouth). For those who love taking photos, this is the place for you. Don't forget to go to the rooftop, it's so...More

Had dinner at La Guarida with my husband. We ordered the suckling pig and oxtail Risotto. Both were good but not excellent. The ambience was superb though.

Every time we visit Habana, La Guarida is our splurge meal. Amazing Cuban cuisine and ambience. When you enter the relic building, you encounter a magnificent staircase that I’ve come to term our “staircase to heaven”. Heaven being the surprises that await you in La...More

I would hold this place up to any restaurant and in the world! Incredible food, wonderful seamless, attentive service. Some very interesting and innovative dishes. Not cheap, but worth every peso...not outrageous though. The ambiance is wonderful but be prepared for a 3 story hike...More

This place is fantastic. The rooftop bar serves awesome cocktails at reasonable prices. The food is also reasonably priced for what it is. It is world-class gourmet. We had an octopus tartar that is one of the best things I've ever had in my life....More

My advice is to hire a cab from the hotel and arrange with him for drop and pick up as we did.The price is the same.

I think you should be safe! I had a pork dish and my wife had the ropa vieja and both had no nuts. In general, I don't recall seeing nuts in many dishes throughout Cuba with the exception of desserts.
