In past years we have been able to purchase coffee beans here but on 2 visits in February there was a chalk sign in Spanish reading 'no beans for sale now'. The cafe was open on one of our visits, selling an Italian brand of...coffee widely available elsewhere and closed on another.More

We didn’t eat here but we went several times mainly due to free WiFi. Staff are very friendly, helpful, there’s a really nice atmosphere and a great terrace (although WiFi doesn’t work so well there) overlooking the square. Thoroughly pleasant.

The best coffee in Havana. The place is located in Plaza Vieja, one of the most important squares in Old Havana. The view is really good but the service is not excellent. If you want to enjoy a really good coffee go there!

I have to say that when it comes to coffee, I am a third wave person. I ordered a latte here and it was so not to my taste that I was unable to finish it. The location is nice, overlooking the square.

Coffee is excellent and they have broad variety of drinks to offer. Just nothing without coffee and the service was very moody and unfriendly.

Stopped here twice during my trip and I was always happy with the coffee and value. I enjoyed the espresso with a bit of condensed milk which was £1 (1.25 CUC). The service was a bit hit and miss and was not a fan of...being asked to tip when I went up to pay but seems that as a white male in Cuba I am seen as financial opportunity first and customer second.More

We had a friend recommend we look up this cafe + we were not disappointed - in fact we came back every day for our mid day coffee fix - setting is great - you can also buy the beans + have them grind it...- only wish they sold some baked goods + sandwiches to go along with the great coffee - so a tip would be to bring your own pastry :)More

I had been warned by everyone I met (and other reviews) not to expect much in the way of service from this state owned cafe. The smell of the coffee still dragged me in, and I was pleasantly surprised when a lady approached me, made...a recommendation and even got me my coffee quite quickly. Payment didn't take any time at all either. Maybe I just chanced upon them at a slow time, but a great experience overall!More

We were recommended to come here from our casa particular host, and the coffee didn't disappoint! We headed there in the morning and grabbed a seat in the cafe seating outside, and had a great view of the plaza. We grabbed the sandwich with ham...and cheese (half size per person), yummy.More

They are open early. I believe 7-8am and they are open till 9pm, or until they run out of coffee. If you are buying whole beans, remember that there is a separate line to the right of the counter. The line going out the... More
