We did like the atmosphere a lot and indeed went twice, live music was great as well as the food... but the waiters English was not very good and that lead to a lot of misunderstandings for the orders, what they had available, what was...what...never a good situation. We just let it go as we did not spend time arguing but sure they could do better- they sucked right in the middle of the center after all at the most touristic part of town. The guy (sort of gate keeper) downstairs let you in as if there are free tables and you'd be seated right away- only to sit upstairs waiting another 20-25mins. Then they take a couple that just came in, we'd say we were ahead and they would show you a sign to wait as our turn is coming any moment. 2nd time I was getting up to go fed up waiting and ...they told us they found table for 2.More

Visited a few days ago for dinner. Bottle of red Chilean wine just over 12 CUCs! (which is a very good price in Cuba). Starters (garbanzo frito & Talma (I think it was called) was tasty. The mains were shoulder of lamb (large piece, but...unfortunately not tender enough) & carne de res (cooked to perfection & very tasty dressing). Side dishes were rice, beans & veggies. Dessert was flan (delicious) with ice cream. A very tasty dinner, good service and definitely best value for money I found in Cuba. Planned on returning (on a Saturday) but unfortunately there was a long waiting queue & we could not wait. (Sats are busy). Total price just over 50 CUCs! Service was good but they did bring my husband the shoulder of lamb before we'd finished the starters and eventhough they did take it back when it came a second time it was clearly warmed up 😕and unfortunayely not tender enough (the reason for not giving 5/5 rating) They do not take bookings so make sure you go with time.More

Had a great meal of paella for me and a steak for my wife, with a bottle of wine. When the bill came for 54CUC, I checked it and it was correct , with a 10% addition, which we had expected for a service charge....When the waiter came with my change from the 60 CUC I had given him, when I took all the change, while he stood over us, he said very firmly that there had been NO service charge on the bill, and when I challenged him about the 10% shown on the bill, he was adamant that it was a 10% tax and not a service charge. I reluctantly and stupidly let him have the change. When I got back to my hotel and Googled sales tax in Cuba I found that it doesn't exist. Please be aware that there is a 10% service charge included and shown on the bill, and that your "friendly" waiter is prepared to tell you an outright and barefaced lie in order to steal an additional tip for himself. That effectively makes him a thief! Management beware, you have dishonest people workin for you, and you will now receive a very low score with this review! My review would otherwise have been a very good one, but I don't like being CONNED. I will pas this on to our local guide who recommended you, and he will no doubt act as he see fit when he recommends you , or not, to his clientsMore

Recommended by our hosts in Casa Particular we went to Los Nando’s. Long que waiting for tables. Different restaurants on different floors. We went to the top floor! Good service and attention from the waiters. They did not have all dishes on the menu. But...we found good appetisers and main meal ( meat ). Good size portions and tasty!More

Owner of our B&B lead us to this spot across the Capitol in Havana. They open for dinner only, so don't expect the place to be open before 6. People at the door might try to get you into other two restaurants inside the same...building, ignore them. Just go up the stairs to the first floor to Los Nardos. Place welcomes you with a cool air-conditioning system, an elegant atmosphere which may seem to suggest high prices, do not be afraid, their menu is affordable even for budget travelers. Chicken, pork and beef are unbeatable, their cocktail, wine and beer supply is nice and their fruit drinks are made with purified water. Service is professional and I plan to get there again in my next trip!More

I've been here maybe 10 times or more in my trips to Havana. The food is well made, generous and tasty. Prices are reasonable and wines & drinks fairly priced. Atmosphere as is nice as any restaurant in havana. Not a tourist restaurant certainly as...many locals or more. As usual you need to watch how they try to build the check with suggestions, but at least in my last few visits they did not try any rip offs, so that that has improved. The service is hit-and-miss sometimes attentive and other times you wait. I would always recommend los Nardos.More

Still one of the best values as far as food. Ate here 4 times in 9 days Example, fried chicken (3 legs with the thigh) with 2 sides cost CUC$5.50. Incredibly, they had Budweiser, not the crap from the U.S., but the original Budweiser made...by Budvar from PragueMore

Food was very good, prices were high for Havana, but it wasn't as overpriced as some restaurants there. They do say on the menu that there is a 10% fee added and that is for the tip. Our waiter said it is NOT his tip,...but that is only partially true. The 10% charge is shared between all employees and is not specific to your waiter/waitress. It goes to busboys, cooks and the wait staff. So we did add a little extra $ specifically for our waiter. I would eat there again but there are a better choices in Havana for the money.More
