Stopped to listen to the band playing and for a drink. Had a chat with the bar staff, who were very helpful in giving us directions. Sadly was spoilt when my wife had a recommended mojito, only to be ripped off for 7cuc, normal price...around 3cuc. Drink the beer !More

Staying in havanna for a week we were lucky to find this bar on our first day. Great staff and the best music you can find in this town. No tourist nap. The band Ho Mero didnt stop playing after 3 songs like in other...bars. The just kept going for hours. We came their 4 times in 7 days just for one drink and we stayed every time for hours. Miss it. Hope i ll be back thereMore

This has got to be one of the best live music places in Old Havana. Right around the corner from the Plaza Vieja, it is easy to find although a bit hidden from view. If you are lucky a manager called Raoul will look after...you to make sure you will have a great time. The food is alright, but that is not why you are here. After a couple of Mojitos, you will start to really dig the sounds and rhythms of the band, perhaps even get up to shake what your momma gave you. The seating is as primitive as some of the infrastructure of this crazy city, so be careful when sitting down on the wooden benches that meet up with century old cobblestones. All those are minor problems compared to the wonderful meetings you can experience here with fellow travellers from around the globe. For a great time Cuban style don't miss this fun spot Say "Hi" to Raoul and Josef send you.More

We stopped there for some simple snacks and drinks on our last day in Kuba, before heading to the airport. Wanting to enjoy our break without missing the spirit of cuban streets. And this place was perfect for that. Snacks and drinks were good. Staff...friendly, funny and chatty. I just hope we will manage to visit Cuba again someday and check this place in the evening with live music and all. I imagine it’s great. ;)More

Location is really good, just off Plaza Vieja but the food is lousy (we tried tuna sandwiches and we couldn’t eat them) and the place is quite dirty all together. Individual wooden seats outside are quite narrow and unsteady so you want to watch out...not to fall. There was a really good band playing inside but that was it. Don’t recommend to others.More

We stumbled on this place on our last night in Havana - a night we'll never forget. The music was amazing, the food very good and the cocktails second to none. We did rather overdo the cocktails though... We'll be back, La Habana, and when...we do, La Taberna will be on our list to re-visit!More

After dinner in the old town, you could do worse than stroll to the Plaza Vieja and find this quaint little place on one of its side streets. Locals and tourists alike sit on stools in the soon to be pedestrian only street, listening to...the music, drinking mojitos (and other alcoholic libations) and nibbling on small dishes. Look for Carlos, the owner, a transplanted Spaniard with a great personality. And, by the way, next door there is a very good ice cream place (Coppelia is ancient history...).More

I wrote a detailed review in January 2018, after we came back from our 8-day vacation in Cuba, but it was never published, probably because I attached a video of one of our nights at this super fun hot spot in the heart of Old...Habana. The music is excellent and the fun is guaranteed. It has food, and we did indulge in some fajita after way too many mojitos, but that is not what made us come back. Love this place and will definitely come back during our next visit; hope the house band will never change. They are fantastic!More
