On Saturday September 5th, we chose your Crown and Anchor restaurant as our preferred choice to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary: we invited our daughter to join us. The interior restaurant lacks any character, warmth or charm; unlike years gone by. So we requested outside seating. We were graciously welcomed by the hostess, and guided to our table. It was super hot, so we relocated to a table that gained the benefit of the icy blast from inside when the door opened and closed: this was great! Curiously, the ceiling fans were inoperable? We asked that the music might be turned down: nothing was too much trouble. We each found items on the menu that appealed. Our frozen Dark and Stormy cocktails hit the spot! Things really took off when ‘Evans’ made herself known. ( Kya, she goes by a couple of different names!) She was our lovely, characterful waitress, she seemingly bent over backwards for us. She was very knowledgeable about the menu: she gave us ample time to decide and made thoughtful recommendations and suggestions. When I asked her for a glass of chilled, dry white wine, she hesitated as if she needed to seek advice. She returned with three bottles of chilled white wine: and three chilled glasses. She allowed me to sample each: I chose the Chablis which was excellent. All the food items were very good too. ‘Evans’ was engaging, happy, positive, polite, fun and exuded a warm and terrific attitude. I told her I had been the hotel business all my life and if I was running a hotel right now, I would be trying poach her: I hope that the Princess knows and values the gem they have in her; I hope that she gets to inspire others too. She also promoted the other services that the hotel offered: brunch, spa etc. The dining room captain Randy offered to take our photograph on his phone, and then shared it via Airtime with us: great job! This culminated with presenting us with a complimentary dessert with 39th Anniversary plate writing! Awesome team all round. Thank you!

We had a fabulous dinner in the Crown & Anchor on 18 July. An extensive menu is available but the set barbecue option is unbeatable value for a range of meats, fish & accompaniments. The service from Florina & Alessa was outstanding & the banter with Lloyd was highly entertaining, as always. He can always recommend a good bottle of wine which may not be on the wine list without breaking the bank. Looking forward to our next dinner there soon.

My husband and I booked an afternoon tea on a Saturday afternoon. We called two days in advance to book and were not disappointed. I am pescatarian with a nut allergy, and the kitchen took special care to meet my dietary needs with personalized options. We had the English breakfast tea, the Earl grey tea, and of course we had to try Princess Diana's favorite Rose tea. Each carefully made food item was beautiful and delicious. My husband loved the turkey, I loved the smoked salmon. We were both surprised by the excellent raisin scones. We were well taken care of by multiple wait staff who were kind, friendly, and attentive. Even though this is on the expensive side as far as afternoon tea options go, if you're staying at the Hamilton Princess, you can't beat the convenience of the location. For the service alone, it was totally worth it. The delicious food and tea was the added bonus!

A friend and I visited C&A for lunch today. The process to enter and be seated in the restaurant was very efficient. We were greeted by the Manager of the restaurant(Kristian) and a waiter(Raguol) apologies if names are misspelled. We enjoyed the contactless menu using the barcode on our phones. We had the regular burgers and fries, cheesecake, mango daiquiris and mixed drinks. The burgers were overly dry and a bit pricey. Kristian and the waiter were very attentive and we honestly told them we had better burgers elsewhere. The cheesecake was by far the highlight of the meal. Drinks were okay. Before leaving we were surprised with chocolate chip cookies to take with us. I'm a Baker and the cookies were as good as my own. Thank you Kristian for your kindness.

Gale force winds and torrential rain kept us in the hotel so we descended to the Lobby bar and restaurant of the Hamilton Princess Got a nice table for two. Opted for the traditional fish chowder and Pumpkin soup. Both came with rolls and we decided to split the Dash salad made with kale, spinach, pickled shiitake mushrooms, goji berries and moong beans in a light vinaigrette- fantastic and plenty for two people. This is always a nice spot at the end of the day for a drink or a quiet dinner.

Had Sunday lunch at the Crown and Anchor with the family, first time eating out after Bermuda has started to gradually open up. Clearly a lot of thought and effort has gone into making a safe environment to dine, service was fantastic, as was all of our food. The kitchen staff even prepared our daughters’ favourite dessert even though it isn’t on the menu currently. The new covered outdoor eating area is a great spot, highly recommended. Booking is essential under current regulations. Enjoy a great meal out while supporting the local economy and terrific staff

Upon arrival, the birthday girl was wished happy birthday and when dessert was brought, the waiting team came out singing the birthday song. She felt really special. Marilyn was a fantastic waitress and catered to our every need. She gave us clear instructions on the protocols we had to follow regarding health and safety standards for the current pandemic phase. Service was excellent as was the food and the thirst quenching mojitas. The head waiter and Maitre d visited our table to ensure that we were comfortable and well attended. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon in this newly renovated, delightful garden restaurant. We will be returning.

The restaurant is situated in the Fairmont Hamilton Princess hotel. In these times of Covid-19, I was a little nervous about venturing out. From the moment we entered the hotel, ushered to the restaurant and seated, I felt safe. There was hand sanitizer on the table and brown paper bags available to store your masks while seated. Omar immediately introduced himself as our waiter and provided exceptional service throughout the meal. We decided to go with the July 4th special which was a variety of dishes including fish, prime rib, barbecue chicken and ribs, potatoe salad, mac & cheese and corn on the cob. There was a salad to start and dessert. The food was well presented and very tasty. Thanks to Omar, the overall experience was excellent.

We went for lunch while waiting for our room to be ready at check in. The hostess was super friendly but it took forever to place our order with our waitress Stef (the name on the check). I think she was new and so maybe she wasn’t used to the job, but she had a really bad attitude as if everything we asked for bothered her. I spilled my drink (rum swizzle) and she said she’d bring a cloth to wipe it up but came back around 5 minutes later because she was more concerned by the table behind us, who by the way left (lost patience?!) like after 20 minutes. I cleaned up the mess myself with napkins and was never offered another drink, but that’s okay because I had already had half and it wasn’t really that great anyway. The food was good but the service was so, so slow. Long and painful. Everything seemed like a chore to Stef and she was very cold and begrudging. There is an automatic gratuity of 17% on the bill and we never got a thank you or a good bye out of Stef when we’d finished paying. Literally the worst dining experience I’ve had in years!!! Will get the rest of my meals takeout at Miles Market, even though I am a hotel guest. Just put me right off. Super bad vibes. : ( Please note: The front desk staff and Roxann at the concierge desk have been really kind and amazing. I love the location of this hotel and the artwork in the lobby. The rooms and grounds are beautiful. Just this restaurant experience honestly put me off and placed a damper on my stay. Stef if you read this, you know you can do better and always be sweet and kind to all people. Even if you’re having a bad day you can still choose to make someone else’s better.

Thank You for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very disappointed to read of your experience.. Whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience, we do extend it with all sincerity. This is a level of service that we find unacceptable and will address it immediately. We hope you will give us another try in the future.

I went to their brunch this weekend with friends after stumbling upon it at afternoon tea the weekend prior. We had the BEST time! We were sat in Marcus which is a quieter part of the brunch. The music is loudest in Crown and Anchor and outside - great to have a choice of a quieter or more of a party vibe. The brunch was brought to the table instead of scooping it out ourselves which we all thought was actually way better. The food was excellent. We were always asked if we wanted more of anything they brought us, so never felt slighted. Alex was our server and made sure to top up our champagne constantly - very important! Later in our brunch, we asked to be moved outside if there was space and Shonette kindly accommodated us by having our drinks and dessert sent outside in the sunshine and louder music. We continued with the champagne well past our brunch time and Alex continued to serve us graciously. Would have loved if the music continued for another hour - DJ Choice really adds so much to the brunch atmosphere. I highly recommend the brunch for the food, atmosphere and fantastic service!

From first impressions I knew we were in for a wonderful evening from beginning to end from the friendly doorman, to the friendly young lady who greeted us and led us to our table at Crown & Anchor. Then Lloyd and Peterson took it from there extending fabulous service from start to finish. Loved the menu and how it was served, felt so much like family style, pick and choose with a variety to select from. Lloyd and Peterson went beyond to make my nephews 20th birthday a very special one. We will be back!

I managed to get to C&A for the first time since they opened up today and I was incredibly impressed by the renovations that they have done, and the care that they are taking to ensure that customers are safe and satisfied given the current situation. Service was impeccable and the food was equally of superb quality. Not a foot was put wrong. The server - Marilyn - was warm, welcoming, and personable - and our food was with good portions, hot, and tasty. The contactless menu was particularly impressive. Not a flaw.

I admit I do not often write reviews but the service and ambience were such a pleasant surprise I feel bound to write of my experience. We were greeted by the supervisor (Lloyd) who couldn't do enough to make our experience very special, he was friendly and very informative of the hotel and its large art collection. He went above and beyond and even gave us a guided tour of the artwork spread throughout the restaurant and hotel once we had finished our delicious meal. I am by no means an art aficionado but seeing art by Andy Warhol and Banksy (as well as many other known artists) really gave me an appreciation for the owners extensive and eclectic art collection. This restaurant has now become our firm favourite on the island and we have already visited 3 times this week. We will be visiting again on our last night to thank Lloyd for his exemplary service and kindness. I recommend this to anyone visiting the island and guarantee you will love the experience.

My partner and I came to Bermuda after 6 months apart due to the pandemic and travel bans. We have been to the Crown and Anchor twice during our vacation, and have loved it so much we intend on going back again during this visit. The food is absolutely wonderful. Great care is taken in dealing with COVID with paperless menus and a bag provided for masks. The ambience and view is also top-notch. The restaurants manager, Kris, as well as the staff were all incredibly warm, friendly and made the meals highly enjoyable. Special shout outs to Julius, Omar and Art, all of whom provided fantastic service and banter. Many thanks for the complimentary champagne in honour of our nuptials and the tasty free cookies. We look forward to visiting again very soon.
