We stayed at the Hamilton Princess for 4 days/3 nights as our end of summer vacation. On our last night's dinner we dined at the new restaurant Intrepid, which has only been open a few couple weeks but had already had rave reviews. The ambience is top notch as the design of the restaurant is very sophisticated while also appealing to the casual diner. We sat at a table outside overlooking the marina and while we enjoyed views from our suite it was the perfect place to eat our last night. I am not a food critic in the least but this is an A+ restaurant! Everyone was also very welcoming from the hostess, to our server Ean, to the manager! I was delighted that when I stated what we were celebrating that it was acknowledged without my having to remind or even justify why it mattered to wish my daughter well as she begins her junior year in high school. The photos of the food really speak for themselves but I was not disappointed by anything. Bermuda is expensive and while I enjoyed all the places we dined, Intrepid was the one that was absolutely worth the cost. We even had a late dinner reservation as we wanted to spend more time at the pool so I pushed it out, and not once was the quality of the experience lowered nor did we feel rushed! If you're staying at or near Hamilton Princess this restaurant is a must! Tell Ean, that Dennecia sent you and make sure to tip him extra!

We were celebrating and this place is good .
What we loved :
The Greeting when entering was warm welcome while ushering with explanation of facilities .
The place itself is very appealing fresh styling and beautiful full sea views .
The welcome from all wait staff as we passed and were helped into our seats by our waitress who was extremely keen and helpful in assuring us of dietary needs as when you book its written down .
The explanation of the menu with helpful hints and suggestions ,the upfront prices given for specials are appreciated .
The lighting ,atmosphere and mood .
The music was fabulous we really enjoyed the selection of jazz ,lounge and rare groove plus level was perfect not too loud but enough to enjoy .
A choice of steak knife presented in a selection box to choose.
The food we most enjoyed was my husbands starter of rum glazed pork belly it’s absolutely delicious !
The potatoes Gratin was excellent with Gruyere and enough for two.
The desert we shared was a Panna Cotta with a wafer of meringue ,ice cream and pineapple salsa on bed of tapioca it was so refreshing and palate cleansing .
The special little truffles so dark and rich and melt in the mouth .
Our waitress Jessa (forgive if not correct please ) was so very welcoming and caring we thought she did an incredible job and when we mentioned our little dinner dislikes she made good on them many thanks .
All staff including management were so friendly and helpful throughout the evening .
What we didn’t like so much with room for improvement :
Sorry although the total overall experience was a positive and we will definitely return but a few little creases ,the Surf and turf was not too good although the meat was perfectly cooked it lacked seasoning and I had to ask for salt to be brought ,the Béarnaise was lackluster and was so bland it needed more sherry vinegar ,tarragon and shallot (I should have taken the waitress suggestion of peppercorn sauce )
The lobster tails were a little dry and so over salted ,tasted better once left in the clarified butter but still at the prices this needs to be perfect .
The catch of the day was bland but again well cooked still soft but really needed some seasoning my husband added salt ,the pink sauce it arrived with tasted just of cream .
The fact that veg is separate and not included and each dish is rather expensive although good and enough for two but adding at least $30 for one starch and one vegetable choice but probably works best for a bigger group to try .
The bread was expensive although homemade and quite nice soft rolls but over priced working out at $3 a roll ,I prefer French bread not as sweet .
The giant silly pepper mill staff have to lug around is a bit gimmicky and eighties not needed in a classy place like this and probably cumbersome for staff .

We arrived early doors at just before 6pm (open for cocktails 5-6, then food 6pm onwards), we were greeted with smiles on arrival and swiftly offered a table for 2 adults and a high chair for our 10month old. The atmosphere was very cool and calm with a beautiful view outside.
The staff are incredibly friendly (this is true throughout the hotel and Bermuda!). Richard introduced himself as our waiter, including to our son which gave him a big smile. He discussed the wine and menu in depth. They have an iPad that tells you all about the different wines so this was a cool touch too. We went for whispering angel rose - very nice (I think $80).
We got some of the lost delicious bread I’ve ever had (Richard recommendation). 4 of the softest rolls with sea salt on top, and served warm alongside creamed butter ($12) They were honestly incredible. We both chose to have the catch of the day ($42) which was sword fish. When I say this was incredible, it really was. It was perfectly cooked and served with a garlic mash potatoes and veg. The flavours were fantastic throughout the dish. We were both served at the same time and another member of staff came so that our sauce could be poured in sync- a very nice touch. Our little boy loved every mouthful of the dish too. I’m sure he was gutted to go back to my cooking!
All in all, the experience was flawless. It is quite pricey but Bermuda itself just seems to be. I just wish we had more time to visit again and try some of the other dishes.

Very overpriced and not good value for food served. Although our wait staff was very charming and provided great service the food did not live up to our expectations of fine dining. Both our salmon and sea bass were flavorless and overdone. The chocolate ice cream didn’t even taste like chocolate and the vanilla ice cream didn’t taste like vanilla and was over sweet. The manager of the restaurant came over to ask how our meal was before we had been served. Can’t recommend this restaurant to anyone who expects fine dining at fine Dino prices!

All I can say is that if I could give 6 stars I would. Our meal was absolutely amazing starting with the appetizers, main course and ending with the dessert. The portions were surprisingly very large and honestly the price for what you get in comparison with other restaurants is very reasonable. The best part though we’re our servers Marilyn and L Leyd who were so helpful and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Not only that, they made the meal so much more enjoyable. Ask Marilyn about the background information of the Intrepid and history behind the restaurant and the Hamilton Hotel. Fascinating! Can’t wait to come back.

The food was really good, but the night was absolutely ruined with the super loud music and I left with a splitting headache. We were there to celebrate a good friend’s birthday. The point of dinner is to enjoy good food and good company. You could only converse with the person right beside you and you couldn’t hear the waitstaff when they were speaking to the table.
We asked for the music to be turned down and were told that although they had several complaints, the owners wouldn’t allow them to turn it down.
If you are looking for fine dining with nightclub loud music, this is for you. If you are looking for an evening out to have conversations over dinner, I don’t recommend. Super disappointed.
Food and service (outside of the music volume) were really good but I won’t return.

The food was outstanding, not worthy of a Michelin star, but (except the dessert) on a par with the best we have experienced in Bermuda so far.
However, the welcome, or should I say, complete lack of, was very disappointing. The greeter’s behaviour was absolutely disgraceful, she was more interested in dealing with walk-in’s, (albeit clearly regular diners who were expecting special treatment) than disabled guests with difficulty standing in line, who had actually booked a table.
When we finally got to the front of the queue, she then ignored us and went to seat the guests in line behind us. They were obviously also regular guests whom she wanted to serve ahead of us.
It was only because these diners had noticed the walking sticks and told the greeter to seat us first that she attended to us when she did. This was 15 minutes after we had arrived on time for our reservation.
She then apologised to us saying that she thought we were with Dr X (the guy who had been in front of us). That was nonsense we were clearly not with him. He and his partner had already been moved away by then.
Someone would have had to be blind not to notice how disgusting we found his entitled attitude. Having a Dr in our party too, we have never understood the type of person who feels the need to use a professional title to book a restaurant, where it is clearly not relevant.
Our server was very friendly, but equally very busy, so less attentive than we have experienced elsewhere. He also spilled all the juices from the meat all over the table when he removed the wooden platter with the meat on.
The selection of steak knife was ridiculous. If you are going to use such a pretentious practice, you really need to make sure that they are properly maintained.
We spent over $700 for two, mostly on food, as only one of us drinks alcohol.
In summary, definitely not worth the money and we are just relieved that our friends were unable to join us.
Over several trips we have stayed in Bermuda for over seven weeks and this greeter is only person we have ever encountered who was not incredibly friendly and welcoming, nor efficient.
We would never go back again.
We recommend if you want fine dining in Bermuda that you try the Island Brasserie at the Rosewood, Cafe Lido, Pink Beach Club at the Loren, the St Regis, or Ascots if you want a warm welcome, as well as good food.

The view is lovely, food is great but not large portions and the service is first class. It is, however, expensive for those that are not used to high end New York restaurant prices. $12.00 for a bread roll with butter seems objectionable. On the other hand it deters one from eating unhealthy carbohydrates. The wine mark up is high.
Except for the prices, definitely 5 stars. I know I will be going there again but it won't be every week..

I dined at Intrepid this week, Hamilton Princess's new steak house. I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Marilyn who was our server. She was so attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions. She suggested the smoked mac n cheese which was sooooo tasty, one portion was not enough. She is a very friendly and professional server. If you ever go there ask for her section! It is expensive and Marilyn just made the dining experience great.

This was among the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Our server, Jessa, was incredibly attentive and did everything possible to ensure a wonderful dining experience for me and my friend. We both ordered the 10oz striploin steak and the special, french onion soup along with a couple of sides and drinks. Everything was delicious and deeply flavorful. Though it is expensive, you certainly get what you pay for and I would love to come back; everything was really perfect.

Let me start with the food was amazing, however, it wasn't just the food that made the experience ... The people made it all complete. Obviously the chef made the food with love, but the entire staff made us feel like royalty. It started when we didn't have a reservation and asked if we could sit at the bar and if something opened, we would be most grateful, and then my friend was cold and came in with no cover up, asked the Maitre-d' if he had anything (I know, I know I could not believe it either?) Lloyd literally gave her the jacket off his back! From that point on, we were instant friends, and it just kept getting better. The first night (and I say the first night because we were staying at the hotel for several and we kept going back), the first night our sever was from Egypt, and my friend spoke a bit of Arabic, so she spoke with Omar and we chatted it up all night. The next night our lovely sever was from Romania and she was just amazing- I can not remember the spelling of her name I apologize it was quite difficult with many vowels. but between her, Phillip Howard, and again the AMAZING Lloyd we spent the evening chatting like family. It is rare that in a restaurant so high level as Intrepid, you get such an engaging staff - one that draws you in and makes you not only smile, but laugh. That isn't on the menu, so thank you for that my Intrepid friends I look forward to my return visits both for your amazing seafood and I hate to say service because it was so much more than that!

We came as a big group of friends and the staffs there were very accommodating and tried their best to seat us. Food was great, definitely top tier in Bermuda but I was specifically impressed with the dessert. We were able to speak to Chef Ghel briefly and she recommended 007 Layer Chocolate Cake, Golden Eye Baked Apple Galette and Strawberry Five Ways for dessert. All three of them were amazing, possibly the best I have had on the island! Fantastic experience overall, and i would recommend this place to anyone who likes to end a great night out on a sweet note.

Hands down the best restaurant I have been to. The service was excellent from the moment we entered. Lloyd escorted my grandmother from the entrance to our round table for our family of 6.
The service from all the staff - especially Lloyd and Jaswyn was exceptional. The attention to detail - remembering my sisters nut allergy and recommending tailored knives according to our cut of steak.
The food shout out has to be for the ribeye steak, the truffled potato and the lemon meringue. Superb 10000/10.
Overall, it was a night to remember and would recommend intrepid anyone who wants excellent service and excellent food - it’s an easy choice. A MUST visit when in Bermuda.
Thank you!

We loved dining at intrepid tonight! We had some great drinks from Keirston at the bar before dinner, and Ean was our server. Ean gave us great recommendations and also graciously helped us make a substitution on an entree that we wanted for dinner. We also enjoyed Ean sharing the history of the restaurant with us. The food was incredible and the we loved the red wine from Justin vineyards. We had the oysters Rockefeller, the wedge, and the land and sea with potatoes gratin. Definitely come here if you’re in Bermuda and request Ean as a server!

Imagine a restaurant with panoramic harbour views where sun shines and kisses your face. Imagine a decadent meal that is so exceptional you don’t have any choice but to savor every bite of it. Imagine a staff that is so attentive you feel at home whenever you dine with them. This is intrepid.
From the time that we were greeted by Shania (and accommodated even if it is almost kitchen’s closing time), meeting our server Oliver (he IS the guy.. No words to describe his service, he def delivers and please look for him!) along with the funny Omar, dedicated Hewa, and Annaliza (all of them tirelessly checking our table to make sure everything is perfect) down to devouring the fresh, delectable, scrumptious meals we ordered, I can truly attest that this resto undeniably feeds the Epicureanism in me. It is luxuriously indulgent but still gives you a “homey” feeling. Maybe because the staff in general ensure that you are well-attended and enjoying your food.
And don’t get me started with the desserts as they serve the BESTTTT (7 layer??) chocolate cake, tiramisu, baked apple galette in the island! These desserts give you a fleeting feeling (in a positive way) that it makes you question the taste as it is too good to be morally sound!! And whenever we go there, Chef Axel never fails to surprise us with his messages on the plates—reminding us that food is art, and art is food. His dedication to his work is incomparable that you can tell he’s really enjoying what he does! And I love that! He is one of the several reasons why me and my family/friends keep coming back!
And let me not forget the relaxing ambience and vibe intrepid gives off. And when it comes to price point, it is reasonable that you get a bang for your buck. The whole staff is approachable, never intimidating, and makes you feel “at home” (i keep repeating myself isn’t? But this is the truth though) The food is top-tier I can recommend everything on the menu but my favorites are: maki rolls (especially spider roll) crab and lobster salad (go add avocado!) pork belly (literally melts in your mouth), all sides are bommbbb (hello pommes frites lol) As for the entrée, their steak always gets me ;_;
Funny how this restaurant can make me feel a certain way. Yes I became emotional just by writing this. Thank you intrepid. You never fail to remind me that yes indeed, “Life is good” ♥️♥️♥️
