This restaurant is a must try!!! Been here 3 times and loved it every time! Every dish we tried was extremely tasty and the price is extremely reasonable. You MUST try this restaurant, it will not disappoint. We have tried a numerous restaurants in Aruba...and this one is definitely a keeper on our "return to restaurant list"
The atmosphere is very cute and immaculately clean.
And the service is excellent too!! Can't rave enough on this restaurant. Ditch the high end restaurants on the main tourist trap and visit this one!More
We had an excellent lunch at La Casona located on Wilhelminastraat in downtown Oranjestad on our recent trip to Aruba. My wife and I both ordered the pork chop special. The meat was fall of the bone tender served in a light stew like sauce...with potatoes and carrots. Just very, very tasty. Price was approximately $8 each. Restaurant is quite small but well worth a stop.More
This is the cutest little restaurant hidden just off the Main Street. Everything is made with great care, home made and beyond fresh. We were a party of 5 and everyone was so happy with their meals. The steak melted in your mouth, the pasta had so...much flavor, the chicken so tender and well flavored and the veggies were the best I have ever had. The fresh home made bread they served with an amazing salsa relish...hard to describe but so tasty. The service was so personal and Patricia the owner is the sweetest lady that puts so much love in her cooking. Her husband is the chef and you can tell he really loves his job. We are skipping our usual last night out tradition and going to La Casona again instead. Next year we will be there a lot. Try it,you will not be sorry you did.More
On our recent trip to Aruba we discovered a quaint little restaurant called La Casona. It is located in the downtown area on Wilhelmina Straat #21. The Owner, Patricia couldn't be more pleasant or hospitable. She saw to our every need. She told us all...about the history of the building, and explained all about the meals they served. It was a great experience. My husband enjoyed his tenderloin and raved about the gravey. I had a garlic shrimp dish with rice and it was delicious. Patricia also served us homemade salsa, it was amazing. We are planning our next trip to Aruba and we will certainly make plans to dine at La Casona again.More
We were wandering Oranjestad near lunchtime and stopped into La Casona on a whim. It turned out to be good luck for us! It's quite small and it took a couple of tables to seat our group of eight. The service was prompt and the...food was very good.
It turns out the restaurant is family run and had only been open for a couple months when we visited. The chef/owner Patricia came out after we'd eaten to see how we'd liked the food. She was very personable, telling us about Bolivian and Portuguese cooking. She even gave suggestions and directions to stores since some of us had shopping to do.
This restaurant is definitely off to a good start and I look forward to seeing how it's grown on my next trip to Aruba.More
we found out about this place via the owner herself, and decided to give it a try. It is very small, about 6 tables, and very new (couple of months old)- I had the grouper with special sauce. I twice hinted to Patrica for the...reciepe as I want to make that at home! It was really tasty. My GF had the chicken catchatore, which was huge (we had to take some home)-- If you can find yourself downtown for lunch or dinner, peak into this new place and have a bite. Take your time, enjoy the serene atmosphere, light jazz music (a perfect fit) and order the garlic shimp appitizer!! PS: the homemade flan was incredible too--More
We like to experience and support local restaurants and Cafes as we explore where we are vacationing. So as we were wandering through the nice improvements of downtown Oranjestad, we discovered La Casona around lunchtime and slipped in for what proved to be a very...enjoyable dining experience. The owner Patricia has brought her Bolivian/Portuguese background to the menu, seasonings and flavors rich yet simple, and everything handled with obvious care. She chatted with us and shared her approach to serving delightful food with that signature Bolivian twist. Highly recommended for quality, taste and attentive service. Find it just off the new trolley- serviced main street shopping area at Wilhelminastraat 21.More
