Really tasty Peruvian food, the lunch special is a steal. If you need a break from getting robbed for fish and chips near the high rise hotels, this is a great spot.

We went here for lunch after being at the beach for a few hours. The night before I was watching a YouTube video of a guy that I follow from Aruba. His name is Hyro. He posted a video on how to eat for $20...in Aruba. El Chalon was his recommendation for lunch. We were so glad we made it on time because you need to get there by 2pm for the lunch specials. The lunch specials change daily by what you do get is a soup, an entree and a dessert in the special. I can't remember how much it was because the other girls were having drinks so the bill came out to more but that was to be expected since they were having drinks. On to the food, we got a lentil soup that had beef, noodles, carrots and potatoes. It was very, very tasty but I bit warm instead of hot. My guess is because lunchtime was almost over and they were probably going to get ready for dinner. The special was a fried fish with a lemon cream sauce, white rice and vegetables. The portion was a really good size and the flavor was really good. They gave the take a small cup of hot sauce and with that added sauce it gave it I nice kick. We also ordered the chicken wonton. They are fried wontons with most a tiny chunk of chicken in the very center. The wontons were crisp and tasty and the sauce on the side was a sweet tamarind sauce that paired well with the spicy sauce. For dessert we got a small shooter cup of vanilla ice cream. My friends said that the drinks they had were very tasty. It was a typical Peruvian drink that the server recommended. I was really happy to have taken the recommendation from Hyro and thanked him. When I'm back in Aruba I will definitely return there.More

Such a great local restaurant. Everything was delicious, and came out quickly and hot! Our server, Alejandra, was amazing. I definitely recommend the arroz con leche for dessert. Relaxing jaz music keeps the food and drinking flowing.

Wonderful meal, great service. Peruvian Asian fusion...who knew? Best, least expensive, most food meal we had out in Aruba.

This restaurant offers a great lunch option, at a great price. But the menu is also amazing. Plenty good options on authentic Peruvian food.

El Chalan, peruvian restaurant in sunny Aruba. I have visited this restaurant a few times and mostly for the lunch special they have. I mean who doens't like a 3-course meal? Lol They start with a soup which is different i think everyday but the...main dishes are standard for the lunch. You can choose 1 out of 6 or 8 dishes. Also the appetizer changes, but if you go a few times you catch up...lol. ofcourse you can choose something else if you do not want the lunch special, but the price will then be the usual price. I have to say everytime i went i enjoyed the meal and is a bit different then i am use to compared to the flavour and the way it is prepared. On the downside is the language barrier. The people speak mostly Spanish and Papiamento. So English is a bit difficult, but the girls do try their best and thankfully they are friendly! Also the main dishes are in Spanish and English so you have an idea what you can order and what is in it. The restaurant i visted is not in the tourist area, but i think a bus passess in the area. Someone told me that there are 2 El Chalan's, but i have no idea where the other one is. Enjoy!More

The Aji De Gallina was the best we have had, even better than in Peru. We also had the Lomo Saltado with TacuTacu, the Seco, Anticuchos de Corazon, Chaufa de Pescado and Maracuya Cheese cake. It was all Delicious.
