As stated in a previous review, my wife and I have our anniversary dinner at Gostoso. This year was no different than previous years. We love everything they offer at Gostoso; the service, the food, and the attention to detail are amazing. I am sure...there are many fine restaurants in Aruba. I'm not sure we could find one better than Gostoso.More

We chose Gostoso for dinner last Friday. Even though we arrived early (before opening hours) we were welcomed in by their friendly staff. We ordered the white sangria and appetizers: the criollo sushi, octopus vinaigrette, stuffed avocado, lentil and creamy pumpkin soup. The entrées were:...picada special, lenga stoba, bacalhau Portuguese style, and fish Madeira style. For desert we had their flan. I should have taken before and after pictures. The food was delicious. Our plates went back without a morsel of food on them. Shout out to Rocky (very funny head waiter) the buslady (who made sure our glasses were always full), the bartender for making the sangria and Jose (owner) for making us feel like VIPs. We will definitely go back.More

Jose is a very gracious host! The menu is very well thought out and the food is out of this world. This is a perfect spot for a romantic dinner.

An absolute 5 star experience. I could not ask for better food or service. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly, and the flavors were a symphony for the tastebuds. We are extremely happy we found this restaurant. While Aruba does have many fantastic restaurants, you...should definitely check this place out. Jose, the owner is extremely hospitable, and he loves what he does. This translates perfectly with the food that is placed in front of you. Service is top notch and everyone is very attentive. Highly recommended. Gostoso is definitely on our go-to list for all of our future visits to Aruba.More

Quite bummed I’ve been coming to Aruba for over 22 years and called this my first time at Gostoso. Jose, the owner, takes you in as if you are family and that emphasizes the experience of what I found to be just phenomenal Aruban and...Portuguese home cooking. The menu has options for everyone and there were a lot of specials. We started with the Funchi (fried polenta) and a salad. Both were delicious. Then entree wise, seafood medley, a fish dish (I can’t recall), and shrimp creole. Every dish comes with a heaping portion of rice, plantains and fresh veggies. Dessert was chocolate cake (rich, but a wee bit heavy for that meal) and rice pudding. Oh and how can I forget Jose’s home made hot sauce. That was incredible and we put that on our polenta and food. Now to be fully transparent to everyone in an effort to give the best review, I do have to say this is pricy. The food is of course very fresh which is reasoning to higher prices, but these prices are definitely high up. I know the restaurant scene here very well having been to 120+ over the 22 times I’ve been to Aruba, and there’s a few restaurants with comparable food that have lower prices. That’s my one critique here, but what the heck, spoil yourself. You’re on vacation after all.More

It’s a combination of many flavors. I’d say it’s a combo of Portuguese, Aruban and European. They have a wide variety on the menu and the owner is so personable! It’s great food.
