Fantastic Mother’s Day Lunch. Great food and service. Highly recommend the pub atmosphere and dining area. Superb restaurant place for Vegan choices
Me and a friend finally paid a visit at the end of February after saying we need to for years, and I’m so glad we did! I’d never tried meat-alternatives before as I’m not a veggie myself, but the chilli b*eef stir fry was absolutely...fantastic and easily the best stir fry I’ve eaten. The waitress even said it was her favourite thing on the menu too. The pub itself was cosy and clean, lots of parking, and we’ll definitely be back in the summer to utilise the outdoor space - it’s huge! It’s also been a while since I’ve experienced service as good as I experienced here, our waitress was friendly, honest, funny, knowledgable, and just genuinely seemed to love her job. Having worked for plenty of awful pub owners in my time, I think this must be a testament to how well this place is run behind the scenes. (I didn’t catch our server’s name but she said she usually works behind the bar, and bakes cakes for her day job - so I just wanted to say thank you!) We’ll definitely be back!More
Thank you for your lovely review x We have amazing staff who thankfully love their jobs, and we love them xx Sue was your server and she’s been here about 12 yrs ! So happy you enjoyed your visit and hopefully see you again x
Fantastic Vegan pub, with wonderful staff and such a welcoming atmosphere! I took my large dog with me and he was provided with a blanket to sit on the chairs, and then able to sit to the table with us. He had a bowl of...sausages and a drink of water whilst we had a delicious Vegan Sunday roast, after a lovely starter. Locals are really friendly - totally unpretentious and like a regular old fashioned pub, but with lovely vegan food on offer. Bloody brilliant. Will come again - for sure.More
Thank you, we try and make everyone’s visits memorable and feel we’re a good old fashioned pub but vegan ! Which is great and your review is fabulous thank you. Were extremely dog friendly and disappointed when people leave there pets at home - everyone’s...More
Am overjoyed to have found this gem. The Queen Inn surpassed every hope that I had for a vegan restaurant. Visited at lunchtime with my husband and our very large Irish Wolfhound. We were welcomed so warmly by staff and patrons alike. I had forewarned...them that our dog was large and they had thankfully put us at a table with lots of room for the dog to lie down. We ordered the mixed grill share platter and sausages for the dog.... I almost feel that I can't do the venue justice with my review. It was AMAZING! The whole meal was exceptionally outstanding. I have been vegetarian for over 30 years and I can honestly say that this restaurant left me feeling elated, giggly, amazed and of course very full. The fake meats were chewy, sinuey and gloriously tasty. The black pudding... OMG was so good. My husband is a meat eater and was amazed. We are already looking at our calendar to rebook when we are in town next.More
Thank you for your amazing review, appreciate your time to write this. Our team and customers were absolutely in love with Daphne, wow she was amazing such a beautiful well behaved girl. Glad you all enjoyed your visit and very much look forward to you...More
First time at The Queen Inn. Won't be the last. Weather was not good but the setting was still lovely. Staff helpful and friendly. Food was brilliant no complaints at all. There was 12 of us and everyone really enjoyed their food. Not a vegan...or even vegetarian. Loved it!More
Thank you so much for your review - we do love to please a non-vegan! Look forward to seeing you again
Imagine a friendly, cosy Welsh pub, staffed by happy, engaged, attentive staff and serving the tastiest, most excellent typical pub-fare alongside a thoughtful & wide-ranging drinks choice. This is The Queen. As a 40 year in veggie, I've never experienced this concept and I'm so...impressed. If you're not a veggie - don't worry, you won't even notice the meat is missing. The Queen is now my go-to when I'm here visiting family. Best. Place. Ever!More
Thank you ☺️ your review is most certainly what we work hard to achieve, super excited you enjoyed everything , look forward to seeing you again Thank you
We were up from Cornwall for a weekend in Wales and on the way home we had a birthday lunch to have, and what better choice than searching out the Queen Inn. It had to be done, what with all the great reviews. The staff...were so friendly, as were the locals, and the only difficulty was trying to choose what to have out of the vast vegan menu. Phil celebrated with a Scally Wag ale, recommended by the barman (which he loved), whilst we chose. Phil went for the Chilli Beef stir fry with a side of spring rolls and I went for the Hunters Chicken (a chicken piece wrapped in bacon and cheese with bbq sauce). How decadent! We can see how this place requires booking to guarantee a table during the weekends. When we are back in the area, we will definitely visit again (and maybe starve ourselves for a couple of days beforehand so we can fit in pudding too).More
The friendly atmosphere and smiley faces from staff are just the beginning... prepare to be amazed by the selection of food and drinks - never mind the generous portions! We had the crispy chilli beef and mixed grill sharer - I have no words for...how perfectly it was cooked and presented. Value for money and extremely dog friendly (they provide treats and blankets so your fur baby can sit on the bench with you!) Cannot fault this place and we are so gutted we live so far away. I would 100% make this a weekly trip otherwise. 5 star & 11 out of 10 👌💚🏴More
Fabulous food, vegetarian for nearly 40 years and the meal was superb - delicious, tasty and reasonably priced - as good as I’ve had anywhere in the world, great service with caring staff - would definitely recommend
We found this pub due to it recently being very highly rated on Happy Cow. Two of us are vegans and one isn't, but is a restricted eater, and we were all overwhelmed with so much choice! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and couldn't fault...it. It was excellent and good value. The atmosphere was great, a proper traditional pub, and the staff were all lovely. The strawberry and cream cheesecake I had must be the best cheesecake I've ever had. Highly recommended! We will be back.More
Visited for my partners birthday and cannot fault the experience. As a non vegan I was a little worried about what I would be eating but the carbonara that I had was stunning. Desserts were gorgeous, food was very reasonably priced and service we had...from the young with the tattoos was excellent. Will definitely return.More
The Queen inn never fails to disappoint. Took my wife there yesterday along with our two spaniels and it was great. The food was exceptional with so much choice and the service couldn’t have been better. We’ve been here probably a dozen times now, whether...it be Valentine’s, Christmas, Veganuary, Birthdays or even if we just fancy an hour or two out and every time we visit we cannot fault it. Definitely looking forward to our next visit:)More
Absolutely blown away by the amazing choice on the menu ! The vegan food was so good, Staff were outstanding, so friendly. There are dog friendly places and the there is The Queen inn, she was treated like a princess. Cannot recommend highly enough !
Thank you for your review Glad you enjoyed your visit and look forward to your return We are a bit mad about our doggie visitors ! Your little princess is adorable x
Went with my son who is vegetarian. Beautiful river running past the pub and first visit here for decades. I decided not to have any fake meat as I generally don’t like it. I had the cauliflower curry, my son had the crispy b**f. My...curry, half and half, was so tasty, chips were chunky and both rice and chips plentiful. My son’s b**f was so good and I’d definitely try the fake meat here when we visit again. Really tasty and excellent texture. Quality and quantity both excellent. Service really warm from everyone, able to make an adjustment to one of the meals with ease. Despite being a Monday lunch time it was full and it was a very positive experience. Lots of different alcoholic drinks available if I hadn’t been driving. When I came to pay I thought hey had missed off the drinks and had to check. We’ve had meals where my son has ended up eating a terrible veggie burger for far more. Definitely will return and with a visit if you are a vegan/ vegetarian or an omnivore.More
