Lovely bar with well served ales and nice surroundings in the heart of Bruton high street. Popped in to meet a friend had some nice ale and excellent tapas from their drinks and tapas deal. Friendly landlord in it for all the right reasons.

We called in for Sunday lunch as we were passing through Bruton, parked in the Main Street between two pubs. The Bruton castle looked a little more inviting so we went in. The main bar was busy so we were shown to a room at the back. It didn't look very inviting but we were hungry, plastic school chairs, sticky... More

having used tripadvisor to find a resturant a short walk from our holiday home, we chose the castle. Reviews were good so gave it a go. Unfortunately the fish and chips were poor. Chips fine but fish must have been frozed as it was wet, tasteless and not that hot despite the batter being hot.

Visited twice while in the area for Glastonbury Festival. Landlord was really friendly chatting to us about music and even checking the weather for us. The 2nd time we wanted food, but they dont serve on mondays which is shame. The young barman said we could get a takeaway from a nearby outlet and welcome to eat inside. Wow!!...never have... More

We have visited the castle a few times and the first thing you notice is how friendly the staff and the customers are! We haven't eaten here yet but food looks good!

The industrious and personable management & staff succeed in creating a professional offering in an informal manner and setting. So much so that staff from other hi-end establishments patronise the 'Castle and its wonderful fare. Surprisingly spacious, this locale provides the platform for so many musicians, poets and and other entertainers on a regular and frequent basis. Food is exceptional... More

Often stop in here on a weekend after my daughter and I have been on a walk. Lovely pub, great atmosphere and really really friendly. There is a box of books/toys/games/paper for children (and adults) to use which my daughter loves. On a chilly day the fire is a most welcome comfort and on a fine day the outside seating... More

Always a great atmosphere. Staff are great, landlord fab and friendly. Menu is great. Plenty of choices for vegetarians and always a specials board. Excellent chips! Katie does a wonderful halloumi and portabella mushroom burger with sweet chilli sauce served in a ciabatta roll, chips and a well dressed side salad. Definitely my favourite on the menu!

Thank Sandy M
