We have enjoyed a lunch with kids. Tables outside with view on the beach. simple menu of sandwiches, salads and burgers. We had crab salad and chicken pie, kids enjoyed french fries. All fresh and well cooked.

This cafe clearly prides itself on home made, locally sourced, quality food and at busy times it can take a little while for food to be bought out (in enviro friendly packaging) but it is worth waiting for. The meal deals are good value, burgers tasty and filling. I am glad that I didn't order chips with my veggie one,... More
Stopped for coffee after a dog walk on beach. Coffee good, cheese scone dry, the chips were perfect though! Great location on the beach, though from 25/3 dogs aren't allowed anywhere near the beach, so unlike the rest of Sth Devon this makes the cafe very unappealing to dog owners visiting this beautiful area which on the whole is the... Blackpool sands is a private beach, open to the public with great facilities. The beach is contained in a crescent shaped bay around 1/2 mile long with cliffs either end and a creek running down the west side. The facilities include a large car park, shower and toilet facilities, a beach shop and the Café. The cafe has plenty of... More
We often go to Venus beach cafe when visiting our friends who live in Stoke Fleming. Always have a great meal and a great place to sit watching people swimming or kids playing on the beach. Can get pretty busy for breakfast on a Sunday morning, sometimes you may have to wait for a seat but worth waiting for
Finished off a great weekend in the area by having the best full English I have had in a long time. Fairly priced bearing in mind the quality of the produce. Really friendly helpful staff. The weather was so great we could eat outside in February. Free parking and clean toilets. Highly recommended
We love this cafe and always have great food in a fabulous setting with great service but why oh why are the toilet facilities so inadequate. The beach toilets were closed which left only two staff toilets for an extremely busy cafe. I'm sure health and safety must be an issue here.
The Venus Cafe at Blackpool Sands near Dartmouth is a great place to get a good breakfast. The meals are tasty and the ingredients are from local produce. It does get quite crowded but it's worth waiting around to get a meal.
Had a lovely breakfast mackerel & poached egg Menu stated price was £7 When I was paying I was asked if I lived locally or not. I asked why this information was being asked & was told we charge you £2 extra if not local! This is a breach of trading standards of menu price is listed and you charge... More
Great place for lunch, warm family atmosphere, real log fire plus overhead heaters, needed at this time of the year. Lovely hot tasty soup and granary bread. Good to know too that the ingredients are organic. We had coffee and a read of the papers. What's not to like. Lucky we are locals so can go any time.

Hi - the website is a little confusing on opening hours. There's a page that says it's open in the evenings until the end of the summer holidays but it says elsewhere it's only in July and August. We're hoping to come for Whitsun bank holiday and would love to visit for a meal in the evening. Will it be open?
