We have been patriotic to this establishment for over 40years, from before when the Turners ran it, and whiteness its peaks and troughs. I have never understood why for the last number of years that the staffs attitudes is terrible along with the food, it is after all a gastro pub? We remember the smoking rooms and the family rooms... Yes we went Good Friday but it was 6pm so didn't expect it to be very busy. It was and service very poor and slow, staff were also rude. One waiter served you drinks and no one else could take orders for them. Waited 20 minutes to get drinks. It seemed that they had a set routine and area and... More

Visited Thursday night, it opened same day. Excellent food great service. Went back today for lunch, food was cold, service was very slow. Also some people are using the restaurant as an office, very off putting when you are trying to have a quiet lunch. The computer bags blocking up aisles, they were working on their computers on the table.... More

We have been coming to The Red Lion for the past 30 or so years. Over that time we've seen it refurbished three times and the standard of food vary greatly. We have not been since Xmas and were interested to see the new interior. It is a great improvement especially the rear exit to the garden and updated toilets.... More

As long time regulars of the Red Lion, we've been keen to see what the new refurbishment would look like and I've got to say we are both impressed! Beautiful furnishings combined with booth like seating in some areas and the removal of some doors and additions of new doors makes it feel like a whole new pub. The menu... More

Been in here a couple times but not for a while, the place is currently undergoing a bit of refresh so be prepared for the building works inside and out.
