All reviews steak salad yorkshire pud chicken potatoes the pub beer garden lovely meal friendly locals lovely staff nice atmosphere under new management great beer worth a visit cosy log fire gin selection two nights
Having heard good reviews we went here for my daughters birthday
There was 8 in our party, most opted for parmo but 3 members of the party had viewed the menu on the website and were disappointed to find that none of the choices online...actually existed.
Very very limited selection of meals if your not a parmo fan so maybe not the best choice if your looking for a variety.
Saying that the parmos were fantastic, price was perfect and we did have a lovely time and will definitely revisit
Only thing I would suggest is introduction of a couple more homemade meals to the menu and take the menu off the websiteMore
Booked a table for Sunday lunch.
Friendly welcome and covid compliant.
Nice traditional pub surroundings. Good selection of beers to choose from
Disappointed at the menu as it was basically bar food and a bit limited. No dinners or Sunday lunches. Despite being advertised on the...website.
Both ordered steak and ale pie with a starter of halloumi fries. My wife asked if she could have mashed potato instead of chips. The young lady requested this from the kitchen.
The halloumi starter was nice came with a side of green salad. The salad was not so nice. Straight out of the packet .Tasted earthy and had no dressing . We noticed several other diners had left the side salads uneaten.
Both pies arrived with chips. Unable to do mash as they aren’t doing Sunday roasts we were told.
Chips appeared to be homemade and were a bit too greasy for my liking but ok. The pie was nice. Came with a jug of gravy and a portion of peas in a ramekin. Why in a ramekin! Perhaps to give the appearance of larger portions!
Wasn’t over priced . Staff were friendly.
Would I return? Looking at other reviews maybe I should try again when they have a full menu on .More
Thanks to Liv, Liz and Emily we had an amazing overnight stay in this area. When perusing the menu we had no idea what a Parmo was. After showing us pictures on her phone, Liv convinced us to try it.. Absolutely gorgeous. Fabulous pub with...great ambiance, and good beer. We were in a campervan, so had problems parking on the high street, and they even took the time to direct us to somewhere to park up. Can't praise the girls highly enoughMore
A fantastic meal in this venue. The setting is ideal, a lovely drive across the moors. The staff were brilliant, it all felt clean and well managed. We went specifically for the Parmo options and we're not disappointed. Thank you for a lovely meal
W were lucky enough to book for evening meal on the 17th May, the first day of inside dining reopening. We both had burgers, which were accompanied by plenty of salad and chips. Very tasty burgers. We gazed in awe at those fellow diners who...ordered Parmo's for two, which came on a wooden platter. We felt Covid safe and enjoyed our first dining in experience for a long time. There is also a nice garden out the back overlooking chickens, ponies and a nice view of the moors. Note, at the time of visit they were not currently open for food every night. Check and book.More
I have been many times over the years for drinks. I have been twice now in the last 2 months for food both times I have had a parmo and they are the best I have had by far. The family loved there food also....I recommended a friend and he also agrees how good the food is. Very polite and friendly staff really nice little pub and good drinks selection. I will definetly be coming back.
We ordered a Hot Shot Parmo and a Steak Pie and were both delicious. Also shared a Biscotti Cheesecake yum! Lovely pub, spaced out, friendly staff, excellent service, also served my favourite Rose wine. We will definately be visiting again.
We were staying across from the pub so naturally popped in on our first night. The food and service was excellent! The Covid changes were great and we felt safe and relaxed. The menu is limited but all the dishes we had were cooked to...perfection. We even popped back on Thursday for their pub quiz which was good fun (even if we came last). Would throughly recommend a visit hereMore
