Whether you go for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, this place has brilliant food. Their steaks are the best in town along with all their other products you can buy. They make the most delicious pies that will definitely feed a family. The pies are filled to the brim not the pastry thick half filled pies. They have a lovely... More

We were passing the shop and say an interesting array of foodstuffs in the window so we dropped in. There was a wide selection of sauces in the top half of the shop which also sold fresh meat. The lower half of the shop seemed to have some fresh apple pies etc for sale. Worth a look around.

I had Pie of the day which was a lovely steak-pie. It had lovely tender pieces of steak the whole way through it. I had potato wedges either twice or thrice cooked. A lovely jue and beans. I had wanted the veg along with chips. It came with champ and veg. The Waitress came up to the table to say... More

We had lunch here one day and tea on the next day and both experiences were magnificent. The food on offer is delicious and with ample portion sizes as well. The staff are friendly and courteous. The McCartney's Shop is just amazing indeed. You could spend the entire day in there marvelling at all the food that is on offer... More

Called in today ( Friday)for lunch with my wife. Waited about 10 minutes fr a table and were given one downstairs. Ordered a coke and a tea which arrived immediately, then ordered stew and pie. This took a further 35 minutes to arrive by which time the tea was cold. When it arrived the stew was also cold. And all... More

Thought we'd give the place a try for lunch, wish we'd gone elsewhere. Pie of the day chips and beans was my choice, the beans were over cooked and were gone in two forks, the pie was tasty enough but very small, I expected more of an effort, a small salad, or a sauce/gravy of some sort to brighten the... Since I didnt make it into the bistro, I'll review the shop. Usual array of sausages, sausages and more sausages. Would have like to have seen more chicken as in something different from rolled in parma ham/chopped up in pepper sauce. A little chicken paupietette would have been nice. Not a lot of fish or ready prepared food- room for... More
