What a wonderful place to have coffee and home made cakes. The service was fast and the food was wonderful. We had home made scones with cream and jam... Amazing !!

Lovely tearoom, always very busy. Had lunch yesterday and breakfast today. Both fabulous and freshly made. Nice coffee too. Not sampled the cakes yet but I will tomorrow!

Hello, do you advise that customers book beforehand for your afternoon teas? My mum and I love the look of the three tier cake stand with tea!! We will be on holiday in the Lakes area in June and hope to have tea in the garden by the river if the weather is good!! Thank you.

Yes they do but I don't know what time they open They also cater for vegetarians & also serve gluten free Hope this is of some help to you.

Description
Granny Dowbekin's is a traditional English tearoom and tea garden at the Northern tip of Ullswater and by the River Eamont. Breakfast, main meals and homemade cakes and scones are served all day. We always offer a selection of vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options as part of the menu as well as smaller portions for children and those with smaller appetites. For our full menu and prices please have a look at our website. We welcome walkers, cyclists and well behaved dogs. Bookings for groups of up to 40 persons are welcome. Granny Dowbekin's is licensed to serve alcohol from 12pm when accompanied by food. Free wifi is available.
